Feeling down

Feeling down

I came here yesterday to offer support to veterans, and I still want to do that.....but I myself have found myself feeling down and sad tonight 😞

This is not uncommon as it happens every now and then, not every day though.

It can happen without warning or I can feel it creeping up on me.

I'll automatically start to feel sadness and that intensifies....where I just can't get out of the mood.

I have people surrounding me yet I'm one of the loneliest people I know.

I have a partner who I've been married to for 19 yrs who has told me several times he doesn't love me, and I to have grown out of love with him.

He doesn't hold me or show any affection so I'm deprived of basic human needs.

I just want to be happy again and find someone who will one day love me.

Thanks for listening

Re: Feeling down

Hello @Banjomum1- , I'm sorry to hear how you are feeling. It can be so hard to get out of a mood once it really kicks in. Have you got any hobbies or interests that you enjoy doing?

Taking care of ourselves when we are feeling like this is important so practising some self care can really help. Self care can be very simple things such as washing your face, having something to eat or a nice warm drink, reading a book, listening to some music or watching some TV.

I hear that your partner and yourself have fallen out of love with each other, that in itself is very tough when you have been together for so long. Have you sat down together and talked things through to see if there is maybe a way to save the relationship if that's something you both want?

Please know that you at not alone and we are here for you. Take care of yourself ❤️

Re: Feeling down

I don't want to save the relationship as I'm not attracted to him and neither is he to me.

I just want to be happy.

It's complicated and I don't expect anyone to understand.

I do take care of myself but it's not that easy to just snap out of this mood and emotions

@Banjomum1- that's ok it was just a thought, that's why I said if it was something you both wanted. I hope you can find that happiness that you want and deserve.

I'm glad that you take care of yourself and I completely understand how hard it is to snap out of those moods and emotions. It's also ok to feel the way you do, emotions are completely normal and our bodies way of letting things out. Can you think of anything that could be helpful right now, even if it's just to ease the intensity of how you are feeling?

Hello @Banjomum1-

I have seen you around the forum. It's great that you are offering support to other people. But yes, we all have our struggles.

Glad you have met @MissGremlin

A lot of us balance carrying our own feelings with reaching out.

Take care of you too.

Re: Feeling down

@Appleblossom isn't that the truth, we all have our own struggles yet here we are helping others with theirs.

It's always important to take care of yourself first so it's very much a balancing act.

Hope you are having a good night @Appleblossom ❤️

Re: Feeling down

Hi @Banjomum1- i am also in a long term marriage and it has been very hard, 17 years here.

I feel we have grown apart but he still loves me so I am trying to make it work.

It is difficult when your life revolves around somebody else and yet you always feel sad. I often find myself questioning is it my mental health or am I actually sad or unhappy? Does this happen to you too?
