Hi, this is my first time using this website, I’ve been struggling for several years now with Anxiety and Depression. One thing that tends to trigger me is arguments with my sibling about her getting physical with me in the past.
I’ve worked on moving passed this for a very long time, however today, things got a little out of hand, we got into an argument, she was verbally attacking me when i told her and my father to not HIT. Some families resort to physical disciplining which i do not agree with, having dealt with alot of mental trauma because of having had grown up being physically disciplined ALOT.
My sibling grabbed my wrist and started to come at me,they started to and decided to manipulate the story, as they always do, and i panicked and started to jab her with my phone because she was holding my wrist too tight. In the passed my sibling has taken things too far, leaving me unable to move physically and heal mentally. I still have marks on my wrist from how hard she grabbed me. Im feeling extremely low, alone and triggered. And needed some support.
Hi @Unsanelane10 and welcome to the forums. I'm so sorry to hear what you have experienced today, I can understand how you are feeling low, alone and triggered. Have you got any friends that you can reach out to for some support?
Please know that you are not alone and we are here to support you however we can. I'm always happy to chat if you need/want to.

Re: Violence
Hi! Thankyou for your response, it means so much!! Unfortunately i don’t have any support system in terms of friends, and my parents aren’t necessarily on the same page as i am. When this topic is brought up, their is alot of resentment and and anger that i receive as a response as opposed to genuine understanding and support, which only makes this more triggering!

Re: Violence
Hearing you @Unsanelane10 its seriously not good to deal with that. Especially hard when it is family and when it is 2 on 1.
I wasn't good with boundaries but it sounds like they are needed with your sister. Maybe keep your distance and talk to them and others who can help, when the time is right.
Love your name btw.

@Unsanelane10 sorry to hear that you don't have a support system. I imagine that feels very isolating.
That's horrible that when this topic is brought up that you are met with anger and resentment as a response. You truly deserve understanding and support, what you are going through is not ok.
