Procrastinating or Being self compassionate

Procrastinating or Being self compassionate

Hey gang,

I'm struggling a lot with my anxiety and putting myself down a lot today. I have legitimate things to be anxious about, I've been given kind extensions with my uni work, but I still don't think its enough. I have another week to finish things, but also have work and other commitments and trying to stay well after a pretty severe relapse of my symptoms over the last few months. Today I was supposed to hit the ground running and make some progress, but I stayed at a friend's place and stayed up late last night, so slept a lot today. I work up in panic and really putting myself down. I decided I was unlikely to get much work done, so I got some uber eats and I'm watching some Netflix. I don't know of I'm showing myself self care today, or just taking the piss and avoiding what I need to do. I have a lot to look forward to, but I feel I'm my own worse enemy, I don't know how to ask for help or get out of my own way. I just smile and lie that I'm getting on with study and life when I'm just terrified and I just hope tomorrow is a better day and I can be brave.

I don't know @Snakesahoy only you will know in the long run. We all procrastinate sometimes. It can be a sabotage if you don't get on to it and let the panic build up.... Then there are the causes of why we do that to ourselves.

In an ideal world I believe we all want to thrive and some effort is good.... But if there are too many judgie budgie people or voices in your head... It doesn't always happen.

Your time with your friend may have been important. I don't do Netflix, but I do cleaning.... To distract... So if the place is too clean... It's a worry.... Not normal here... Just saying hi.... Tell us after you submit your stuff.

I tended to stay up late and power through assignments when I was at uni. It's good you have extensions.

Yep. Sometimes I would get slack and just get the job done without giving it my all.... you can still get something in @Snakesahoy
