Hi guys,

It’s so easy to focus on negative things. I thought it might be fun to have a place to put some happy memories from when we were kids.

I will start, when I was 4 we had a lovely garden. I remember putting flower petals from roses into water and telling my Mum it was rose perfume.

Re: Happy Childhood Memories

@Former-Member oh that's beautiful. I grew sunflowers a couple of years ago and my Rosella loved eating them when I gave him some 😊

Seeing the opera Tales of Hoffmann when I was 9. My parents were dirt poor. We lived in single room in a boarding house. However despite their diagnoses and us all being wards of the state. I do believe they did their best.it was a student production. We could walk there as we lived inner Sydney. I went to museum , art gallery and state library. @MissGremlin @Oaktree @Former-Member @Jynx @Shaz51 @Dimity @Till23

@Appleblossom that's a beautiful memory. I've never seen an opera in real life but i reckon they are amazing from ones I've watched on TV.

@MissGremlin I have sung many operas in concert form and been in 2 fully staged ones. I am not a solo singer but can do well enough in chorus.

Re: Happy Childhood Memories

@Appleblossom wow that's amazing. I used to sing in the school choir and did solos in front of the whole school. Thinking back now I honestly don't know how i had the courage to do it given what things were like at school.

Re: Happy Childhood Memories

Wow @MissGremlin that takes courage

I only had one solo… lol… I was supposed to sing 2 lines as one of the gang members in West Side Story. Nothing came out of my mouth on the performance… so the teacher boomed in… with her loud opera voice. I was pretty shy really. Lol
