Trigger warning ⚠️ ... Manipulated into sex.

Trigger warning ⚠️ ... Manipulated into sex.

TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️

Content/trigger warning

ATM I'm trying very hard to support my best friend who's been going through something serious and frightening since back in December and it's still ongoing.

She was ok there for a bit but now after taking to a couple of different professionals -Psychologists, Psychiatrists and a Sex specialist.

All three have told her to go to the police and report this as they claim this was definitely sexual assault given she didn't consent to do anything sexual or intimate. They all read the messages before and after the night, and all agree this needs to be passed into the police station. They said he's manipulated her and definitely coerced her into doing things she wasn't comfortable at all doing

I've read every message between them. One message that stood out to me was when he said that he went there because he felt he needed comforting!! (After saying to her on that night that he's going so he comfort her)

From this guy pushing to see her that night even though her son was very unwell in hospital and she was also having relationship problems with her long term boyfriend. But nothing she could say was going to deter this man from driving two hours to be there to support her...all she wanted to do was get some sleep as she'd been awake three nights and wasn't able to think straight.

I'm not going into the personal details, but he asked her to sit closer to him so he could comfort her and after a while said "I better not say what I want to do to you right now as you've got a boyfriend but I really really wanna kiss you. I have for so long"..."I want to kiss your lips, please let me I'll be gentle". Then he did just that and a lot more.

That's how it all started. She kept telling him she loved someone else and she just needed rest because she was exhausted and not capable of thinking and making good decisions. But he persistently pushed and pushed, she gave in due to fear, thinking maybe if he does this then he'll leave me alone. He even said he'd back off from her after this and leave her alone.

The next morning he left all happy claiming their new relationship will be amazing.

Then she called me in tears saying "something awful had happened. A male friend came over to comfort me, but all he did was push me and manipulate me into sex. I felt I had no option and felt coerced. I don't find him attractive at all nor did I feel like doing anything other than having a drink and getting some decent sleep.

In the days and weeks that followed this event he's bombarded her with messages of his feelings for, that he needs to cuddle her, messages would start at around 5:50am through to 10:45pm. Sometimes they'd start as early as 4:10am and he'd write every half an hour until she was finally awake to reply back. If she stopped replying his messages would have a desperate tone to them and he'd keep writing, usually either trying to gas light her or guilt trip her.

She received letters from his close family members warning her to be very careful as he stalks anyone he's obsessed with at the time. He still lives with his parents and is in his 50's, so his family are aware of his obsessions.

Everytime my bestie tried to pull back and say sorry I'm with someone else remember, or sorry I'm not interested in any kind of relationship with you....he'd just go on as though he'd be er read it, or he'd guilt trip her.

She thought about cutting contact and ghosting him, but felt that'd make it worse.

He's lied to her but she got the truth out of him, he's lied by posting things online about her that aren't true. He thinks of he doesn't mention her name she shouldn't be upset.

It causes her great anxiety seeing things posted about her not true.

His own family say he falls in love and becomes obsessed with any woman kind enough to him in group/chat/forum situations.

This has been going on since early December and she's had enough!

I am taking her to the local Police Stn this afternoon for a chat about her options and given the circumstances around the night he pushed to visit...can be be charged with manipulated sex or coerced sex.

It's not right what she's been through. Even in the months since that night he's been so obsessed with her that I moved down with all my competition horses to be with so we could prevent anything further happening.

He is someone though who can't seem to understand how his actions make others feel.

There are 12 other women out there he became obsessed with in a group chat all because they said hello or politely engaged with him.

Her main motivation to going to the Police is to stop him doing this to other women.

It's not just that night...it's all the gathering of info on the lady he's attracted to then afterwards it's the terrifying stalking of her too. He wants a relationship with her and cannot understand why she's not interested.

It's a sad world when someone does something so awful to a woman, who's just trying to help him in a group chat. Be careful ladies, very careful.

This man knew everything about her.

Let's hope this afternoon puts an end to this hell.

What an awful situation for both your friend and for you @Marzey It must be very hard to see them going through this, though they are lucky to have such a wonderfully supportive friend to be by their side.

I've added a trigger/spoiler box for you, just for the more detailed sections here, though it is an important message that you're sharing regarding needing to be careful. That's not to say that any of these women weren't, however, I suppose sometimes you can't help who crosses your path.

It is quite shocking to hear that this man's behaviour is well known to his family and yet there's nothing that's been done. I'm glad that your friend is able to speak up and I hope it leads to some action being taken to keep others safe.

Thank you @Ru-bee

So If I tap the 'Content Trigger Warning' the rest of the information comes back on screen?

Thank you as well that yes, we are wanting to warn women that sometimes men can take kindness as a weakness and before you realise it you've been totally manipulated. Both else where and here in this forum too.

This guy is full of manipulative tactics.

She knew before meeting him that he was trying to get a little too close to her even though he was fully aware she had a long term partner. Yes they weren't having a great week but it got a whole lot worse for them after someone else inserted themselves into her life.

Sadly this was the catalyst of her relationship and sadly her bf and she decided it was best to go separate ways

But I really believe this guy forcing his way in and then pushing so hard for something, was probably the breaking point of her long term relationship.

Thing that irritates me is he blames this on his mother's death, blames it on his MH and now says he actually desperately needed comforting too that night...he never said that until afterwards in a message to her, because she would definitely have put a stop to it. So he made sure it was afterwards, because prior to him being there he was adamant he only wanted to comfort her and keep her safe as a friend.

I'm not taking her to the Police Stn until tomorrow morning. We have a time booked to speak with a specialist in this area.

One of the Psychologists said his behaviour is predatory. As we had older and other forum material written by him dating back to 2011 thanks to his family.

Going the things he'd written and the way he's acted upon these obsessions, it's gone from something in his mind only to now full blown SA and stalking online and in person.

Yes, that's right @Marzey

It does sound like very concerning behaviour, and you do hear about these behaviours escalating if not addressed. Again, I think that it's a really great step that your friend is taking in going to the police, it's a brave thing to do.

@Marzey you're friend is brave. It's good they have your support.

I've been in a similar situation as your friend before. It's really hard. I never reported it, but wondered if they still do it to others. I wish I had your friends bravery to face that person and report it.

Re: Trigger warning ⚠️ ... Manipulated into sex.

She's very unsure and uncomfortable about taking this to the police. She's a really private girl and even after all this she doesn't want to see him hurt

I think it's his total lack of accountability and lack of empathy towards how she's feeling over it all and he's got no idea what this has done to her life.

Hopefully next week I can assist her to get into some therapy for herself. She's having trouble, sleeping, won't leave the house alone etc.

She just wants women to be aware that this could happen to anyone.

Hi @The-red-centaur

Hope you've been well.

This man has done this everytime something goes amiss in his life, he aligns up with a female who's nice to him, then he starts thinking about in inappropriate ways then boom. He tells them he's in love with them...which never goes down well.

He says he's worked on but I don't believe him because his behaviour over the past few years has escalated - his family have stated this.

He blames it on whatever is happening at the time, blames it on the woman for giving him mixed signals(usually no mixed signals, they are just being polite), blames his mental health. He veber takes accountability for it. If he's asked a question about it, he lies and unless you've got screenshots to prove it, he will deny everything.

So be careful in forum world my friend, out there and on this one. It's definitely an awful thing to go through on this end. I know that her relationship with her partner ended over this.

Red,was your situation a similar to this? How did you deal with it?

Re: Trigger warning ⚠️ ... Manipulated into sex.

@Marzey as a teenager and young adult i used to friend a lot of people online. An old gentleman from the UK become obsessed with me. It got to the point where he came over to Australia and it ended badly.

I also had a person I used to be "friends" with, he would abuse me a lot. He convinced me to invite him to Perth for my 30th and he r@ped me and manipulated me multiple times during his visit.

It's my birthday next week, im having a hard time dealing with it at the moment. Healing is slow and gradual. Some days are better than others.

Re: Trigger warning ⚠️ ... Manipulated into sex.

@The-red-centaur I'm heartbroken you had to endure that. Hurts even more that he got away with it.

My friend is really struggling about taking this to the police tomorrow morning...I've never seen her so nervous about anything.I think the only reason she's doing it is because his behaviour is escalating.

I hope you're doing ok ATM and I know it's a really difficult time for you. Always here if you need a chat.

I don't know what this is like to go through, but it must be awful. Take care Red.

@Marzey the police and courts can be quite confronting, I understand your friends anxiety. Good on her for standing up to him and continuing to pursue justice despite those feelings of anxiety and overwhelm.

Re: Trigger warning ⚠️ ... Manipulated into sex.

@The-red-centaur thank you friend

She's struggling and I can see she's totally overwhelmed with anxiety and stress but she also knows he will continue to do this otherwise.

I don't think she could live with the guilt of another woman getting hurt or messed up in his web of deceit.

He even tried to tell her a few months ago it wasn't the real him, it was the evil side of him. Shaking my damn head.
