Something’s not right

Hello

Hello

Hello, I am new here and I have recently been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and bipolar.

My life has come to a crisis to the extent I feel like a chunk of me had died and I am unable to feel connection with anything.

Everything is fleeting, support is always something I'm unmotivated or unable to do and I am meant to participate when I feel such dread about life.

Please if someone understands this please please PLEASE help me, I am dangerously close to giving up, my self care is gone out the window and I can't do this alone

Hello and welcome @HolyShadow

I'm hearing how dark everything feels right now and how difficult it is to find meaning. I want you to know that you're not alone. There are many in our forums community who have shared in these experiences.

I do also want to acknowledge that reaching out here is a significant step to take, especially when you're struggling with motivation. I imagine it wasn't an easy thing to do, so good on you.

Do you have any other supports in place at the moment? Gp, psychologist, social supports?

Re: Hello

It's common with sz and associated disorders to get negative symptoms. The meds tend to take care of the positive symptoms as you come out of psychosis but the residuals they don't usually affect are the negatives......look up all the A's. Alogia, apathy, anhedonia.....work with your treatment team as it's a long process so keep trying. Most of us have been there and come out the other side......Just keep trying and there's newer avenues for negatives but it's very, very common in our circles.
