Welcome and getting started

New here 🖤🫶🏻

Hi there!
new to SANE, and just wanted to say hi! I have ASD, ADHD, PMDD and am still learning how to manage in a healthy way! I think I’ve done enough psychological treatment for a moment and was looking for more lived experience and likeminded people.
I work in a helper role to others, so feel like it gets hard sometimes to make sure I’m not just burnt out after work and weekends.
Excited to have a look around and hopefully make some connections 🖤☺️

Thank you all in advance for having shared your stories and experiences!

Hi @Kindtoyourmind and welcome to the forums!

It's great to have you here as part of the community 😊

With working in helper roles are there any things that you find help you to make sure you're not feeling burnt out?

Hello,
I'm a newbie too.
Have PTSD, anxiety, depression, maybe ADHD, BPD and possibly more.
Unfortunately mine is chronic.
I live with 2 sweet little dogs who are the only real light in my life lately.
Hoping to connect with others, share experiences and help to create more positive lives for all of us,
sending love!

Welcome to you too @sunnydays1!

Just a handy forums tip, if you want to reply to a specific person you can tag them but pressing "@" and then a list of names will appear as suggested members to tag. When you've tagged someone it will come up in blue like this @Jynx

Re: New here 🖤🫶🏻

Another question from a forum dummy, how do I stop alternating from emails in my inbox to this site to know if I have mentions, replies etc.?
All these emails are driving me spare!!!!!

Re: New here 🖤🫶🏻

@sunnydays1 are you wanting just like, zero emails whatsoever?

I'm the same, I get all my notifications while I'm on here. What I've done is set up a filter for my inbox, so that all forums emails automatically go to a folder and get auto-deleted after a couple weeks.

You can also adjust your notification settings - hover over your profile photo to see a link to 'My Profile' - from there, scroll down till you see 'edit settings' button, then you should be able to see a bunch of tabs - Personal/Preferences/Profile Pictures/Tagging/Subscriptions & Notifications - you should be able to edit them by clicking that last tab you should be able to edit your settings!!

Hope this wasn't too confusing 😅

Hi Jynx,
I went into settings here and fiddled about, hopefully I got it right.
The filter email bit, tried, i have no idea.
How can we just be notified of posts or supports on this site and receive emails from SANE organisation only?

Re: New here 🖤🫶🏻

Welcome.

I am new too, ADHD, ASD, depression and anxiety.

I had been running on empty for far too long. Working, sole parent, health issues, grief etc left no time for rest. So, my GP, signed me off for 3 weeks to reset.

Hope to chat soon .

Re: New here 🖤🫶🏻

I’ve been working client facing for about 10 years now so I’ve had to learn to make sure I’m very self aware! If I feel compaction fatigue coming on I chat to my boss (I’m thankful to have a great one at the moment!) and I make sure I schedule my day with breaks and time to process before and after!
It’s a big learning and it’s forever changing, but I’m still not great at it, that’s why I’m still searching to see if I can stay in these roles. Because burn out is something I feel I’m constantly struggling with. Flexibility with days from home if I can and I essentially don’t do much those days either.
I’ve tried everything haha! I’m doomed to want to help, but struggle to carry the load!
