Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@NightFury sorry to hear you are feeling tired today, hope it's an easy day for you.

Oh I completely understand those feelings, I started the new medication last night so that's very much how I feel today. Hoping it settles soon sweet.

I've got a couple of things to do first and a few phone calls to make then I'll lay on my lounge and rest i reckon.

Helloooo dear, @MissGremlin

You know, I was just thinking - you really would make a great peer support worker. 💛

What are you doing for work/volunteering atm? I don't think I have asked for a while.

Poems absolutely count here. I can imagine writing would be really healing for you in your darker moments.

Can I challenge you to write a poem when you are experiencing joy or a sense of calm?

I am doing well! I have had a very busy week, but that seems to be the way at the moment haha

Re: Battles

Hello @AuntGlow, oh thankyou ❤️. It's something I'd love to do but there's too many barriers to actually do it 😢.

I don't work and can't unfortunately. I volunteer for a pet reuniting service helping get lost pets home to their families.

Poems definitely help in my dark moments, it helps to get the things swirling around in my head, out.

I used to write poems as a child/teen and they were always positive and uplifting but I've lost that over the years.

At the moment finding any joy or moments of calm feels impossible but it's something I'd like to maybe do when things are feeling better.

Hopefully after a busy week you can find some moments of calm and maybe a bit of self care ☺️

Re: Battles

Hi @MissGremlin I've just gotten home, and I'm feeling pressure from all the jobs I have to do, like cook Luna and I some dinner. I'm looking for ways to wind down.

How's your day been? Did you get some rest?

Re: Battles

@NightFury i hear you sweet, just try to take it slowly and one thing at a time. I cooked dinner but I'm not hungry, this medication has taken away my appetite again.

I only got 20 minutes of sleep today but I laid on my lounge with Casper and watched movies.

Re: Battles

I haven't got it yet @MissGremlin I've been looking at it though and each time my brain goes..."must check with @MissGremlin."

Lol.

While you didn't get a lot of sleep, it sounds like you were able to give your body some rest.
