Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Is Casper an assistance dog? I read somewhere that he is. @MissGremlin

Re: Battles

Awwww @NightFury . Trying to keep your head above water can be so tough.

I know with school settings, I need to 'fit' the school culture. It doesn' mean the school is 'bad', or my practice is 'bad', but more that I needed one that I felt comfortable in. So I can totally relate to you feeling a bit like a fish out of water!

Re: Battles

@tyme and @MissGremlin I've taken my sleep meds and climbed into bed. I'm not feeling all that fantastic at the moment, so I'm hoping rest/sleep helps.

If I fall asleep mid conversation, I'm sorry. I'll get back to it tomorrow.

If you fall asleep in convo, it's because your body needs it @NightFury ! Rest up!

@MissGremlin , so did you get Casper and then consider him training to be an assistance dog, or did you get casper knowing he was going to be trained - if you know what I mean?

Re: Battles

@tyme so after I lost my girl when she was only 3 last year that was my assistance dog, the breeder had promised me another puppy. But it was always excuse after excuse and I'd given up on my dream of having another assistance dog. Then earlier this year the lady told me she had some pups and so I finally got another puppy and then began our journey. So to answer the question, yes I knew he was going to be my assistance dog from day one 😊

Re: Battles

Oh, so do they need to be particular dogs @MissGremlin ?

Just say, can I book my cavoodle now to get trained to be an assistance dog?

Re: Battles

@tyme it doesn't have to be a particular dog but obviously does need to have the right temperament. I'm training Casper myself so it's taken at our pace with the help of an approved service.

It depends on whether you are going to train the dog yourself or have a dog trained for you (that part I'm not sure how it works).

Re: Battles

Oh, so you train the dog with a specific trainer. I've been follow @Emelia8 's Hannah.

I was only interested. I'm not planning to train my cavoodle to be an assistance dog even though she's got the right temperament.

When I went overseas, there were so many people with assistance dogs going on flights.
