Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin Thank you for all of your wonderful answers! Okay -

1. I would suggest recognising the first sign of irritability, unease, heaviness, or discomfort. Our bigger emotions often come from a succession of little ones that have been unattended to. So, could you practice doing little check-ins every so often? For example, with a hand on your heart or stomach, assess how you feel and ask, 'what does my body need right now?' This may help you catch the feelings earlier!

2. Okay, I understand. Maybe touching on all of the other points will support this?

3. Let's try to go to Casper first then, okay?

4. This is a really wonderful list!

5. It's really good to hear the forums are here for you - let's keep using this space as an anchor.

6. Wonderful - Have you tried Suicide Callback Service? Or even Beyond Blue, Friendline, Blue Knot for more conversational support? 💛

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin it's got that sticky squish...kinda gooey, like a minty left in a pants pocket for too long.

Re: Battles

@AuntGlow ok so.

1. I really do try to notice my emotions and when things are feeling off but things happen so fast sometimes and with little or no warning.

2. Is just so complicated and I hate that it's how it is at the moment, it's a really scary space to be in.

3. Ok.

4. They are just my main go-to things to do but there is others.

5. Definitely plan on keeping connected here when I can.

6. SCBS won't talk to me, I do chat to beyond blue usually while I'm waiting for lifeline to pick up the chat cos they have a shorter wait time. Blue knot i haven't had much success with and I've never tried the other one.

Re: Battles

@NightFury oh I know that sticky squish feeling, I haven't had a minty for years and I still remember that feeling 😂. Mines nice and soft and squishy, it's so satisfying to squish it then watch it return to its original shape.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin what colour is yours?

Re: Battles

@NightFury the one I have with me now is pink but I also have 2 of the aqua ones.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I have an aqua one, and I think it's either pink or purple. The aqua one is my go to though. Then I have a couple of the big ones. But I find they're almost too big for my hands. I have tiny hands.

Re: Battles

@NightFury i think mine are the bigger ones but I wasn't aware they did mini ones. My hands are only small so it takes both my hands at times to get them to a nice playable feeling.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin yeah, so they have the mini versions too.
