Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin Glad you're hanging in. How's Casper today?

I'm doing okay, so far, an improvement on last night. Which is a very good thing.

Re: Battles

@NightFury Casper is doing better today.

Glad it's an improvement from last night, we will take that as a win.

Just a share @MissGremlin

My new Squish arrived today. I use them to help calm my body and focus my brain. I don't take them to work, but I'll sit in front of the TV with one and I use them and also when I have to make tough, stressful phone calls. It helps to keep my hands busy.

Re: Battles

I have a weighted blanket that is amazing @NightFury . Do you have one?

Re: Battles

@tyme no, I had one. It got left in QLD when I came home. I think I need to invest in another one though. Hard to explain...but sometimes it's that...pressure that my body needs and I do tend to curl up in a blanket when I'm feeling the feels.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin @tyme I'm still working on not judging myself for using things like fidgets and squishies. I brought a weighted blanket in QLD because I was in a really tough place and didn't feel safe physically. I thought it would help, but I only used it a couple of times because it made me feel really self-conscious.

Re: Battles

@NightFury I'm the same, it's so easy to judge ourselves on things like this. I have a sunflower lanyard that i wear that has a fidget thing on it called 'tangle' and it has a few other things on it, i do feel self conscious wearing it but at the same time it helps for me to have something in my hands constantly otherwise I can find myself using them negatively towards myself if that makes sense.

Weighted blankets aren't for everyone, some can't stand them others find them comforting. Sometimes the weight of mine feels too restricting and I start panicking, other times it doesn't feel heavy enough and like I can't feel it.

Think I'm just a bit special 😂
