Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

@Owlunar

Ah yes the tidy up can be a rude awakening. Its still there when we are on our own. Your independence is a good strength, independence of thought and action and taking responsibility, but their reasonable and natural limits and my aged care or someone should step up a bit. I remembered your daughter had her own significant issues which may have increased her touchiness, still a pity and not easy to deal with.

I am wondering if the other grandfather actually is relieved him and I can share on the Aussie stuff, (edited) cos the overseas stuff is a bit over the top. It was actually a big step for them to come over and visit. The next step is settling the little one enough to be left with my son and I. I have been uncertain how far to intercede. My son's social worker said I did have to push a bit on his behalf. We have come a long way in a year. I have also invited them to a lovely kid friendly event at local cultural centre. I will ignore the dragon lady a bit. I was surpirsed tho. Son and littlie played with some of our old toys and the mother said she only had wooden blocks to play with as a kid, which I thought was a bit neglectful as they are a bit into real estate snobbery. Did not send their children to school at all, even my little brother had plenty of lego and stuff even tho we were in a public housing flat. So some lacks along with privilege. I feel her generation ought to have had more and i8t might explain some of her struggles which have been significant. Treading carefully and hoping things unfold well, when dragon returns overseas.. Still there are now some good memories shared with the little boy, he def knows us. Something to build on.

@Zoe7 Not sure what you think about access to skill building toys and home schooling.

My session went well. I have had some uncertainties about counsellor, but she works hard, puts stuff out there, shares relevant links etc. She is not a psychologist. In 20 years of psychologists I had vitually no decent input except the one I had when son was school refusing. We are setting agenda for therapy, and working through history and current day stuff.

@Shaz51

Feeling a bit like you but different medical stuff. Definnitely aches and pains that are not going away, but just ebb and flow on a pain spectrum. Keeping moving and doing music are my ways of managing it. You are finding your way with it all. It can be a delicate balance how much to push through and how much to go gently. I did yoga this morning, and it feels good physically and socially. Good on the purse and not too far to drive. Also did my physio exercises earlier and have an apppointment with him this afternoon. Keeping busy. I used to only schedule one thing per day as typical, whereas now I have 3 things on. As long as I can keep the balls all in the air and do not come a cropper.

Hey ladies

hello @Appleblossom , @outlander , @Owlunar , @Zoe7 , @Eve7 , my wonderful circle of friends xxxxx

yes @Appleblossom , @Owlunar it all depends on my blood tests numbers to say when to go on dialysis and it is interesting that it takes a fistula in the forearm 6 months to be ready for dialysis @FloatingFeather

the hospital wants to get me ready but my specialist is saying no not yet , so one step at a time here and it depends on what i eat

Oh @Shaz51 . That's full on. Bless Mr Shaz!

My daughter has kidney reflux and when she was a baby she had an infection that did some damage to one kidney. It's scary. Organ donation is so important isn't it. Gosh I hope it all works out well for you.xxx

Re: Life can be a Pain

I really hope your blood test are good and you don't have to have dialysis anytime soon (at all) @Shaz51 . Sounds like you have a good specialist. I am learning a bit about kidneys, dialysis and fistulas from you my friend.

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Shaz51 she had major surgery when she was about 2. OMG it broke my heart. But there was no option as it was too risky to get infection after infection. The surgery was only 80 per cent successful and we just had to wait and see. She got the all clear from her lovely urologist when she was about 8. She had issues wetting herself when she was first at school which was awful. But now she is all good. Her surgeon said she should be ok thank goodness. She's now 19. BUT she also had hip dysplasia as a baby. Had another surgery but it has now come about that she has arthritis in her hip so needs a damn hip replacement. She's booked in but just waiting for the call from the hospital. She's such a trooper. She's the baby and I am very guilty of spoiling her and treating her like the baby of the family lol. She's the last one at home so the others don't know haha. Thank you for asking. It all sounds a lot when I write it down but she's really good about it all.
