Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Dec

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi everyone.

It's been a long time and it has been rough. My uncle died before I got to visit him in Hobart however, I did get to go to his funeral and that makes one great difference when I lost someone who was so important in my life - my whole life. I did think at the time that I was the person who had known him for the longest time present - and in the world - I have another uncle so I am the second oldest person in my family now.

When I was in Hobart the weather got really bad and my flight back was pretty bumpy - I have experienced worse turbulence but this time my shoulder was jerked about. We had a tail wind and the flight back to Melbourne was faster than usual.

After all that - with pain and grief work - I had to withdraw to deal with my life generally - nothing out of the ordinary - just life happening - as it always does - it felt harder though, and time does pass - and I had a break though with my shoulder and another significant event earlier this week.

I was given a telescope for Christmas - wow - that was so exciting - I took it outside to try and see Jupiter and Mars - I need to get a folding table to raise the telescope and that's on my to do list right now. I was so busy trying I didn't notice the ants biting and stinging my legs - the itch started in the morning and I am allergic to ants - but after the whole thing settled I found the pain in my shoulder - which has been having regular treatments - is less painful.

And - long story short - I had some questionnaires to answer for my pain specialist - I scored high on childhood trauma and got the highest score for resilience. I talked to someone at Blue Knot about the childhood trauma and really unloaded my emotional pockets and found all the stuff heavy stuff there was gems - I really have taken every good chance with my life and as hard has it has been it has been a life worth living and I am thankful for it- more than that - glad of it.

I have missed so many people. I have been thinking about this community and reading as a guest from time to time - and after the events of this week decided I could come back.

I have a lot to catch up with - and about -

I wish everyone the best for the New Year

Hi @Shaz51

Thanks for post and you were so fast to recognise me - that's great.

I have been so out of touch - I have been reading a bit now and again and I know your health is not at all good and I care about that. How are things going about a kidney transplant or is that not happening? Some health problems are really tough and yours surely is.

How is your mother and also Mr Shaz? Life can be soooooooo challenging at times.

Sending hugs

Great to see you Em - and thanks

I know you have been having a really rough time - and I am sure I don't know all of it.

Life can throw us really hard curved balls at times

All my love
