Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Yes it would make a lot of difference knowing when your surgery will be.

Ha ha about sand. Yep did my sand studies in HSC and thought muchly. Bought bucket and spade for grandson littlie, but he was too involved in being clingy or throwing seaweed at the waves. I was maybe not assertive enough. I was the only one with bare legs and able to stop him from falling down in water. It is what it is.

@Emelia8

Both of you have surgery on the same day! Thinking of you too.

Good morning dear @Owlunar ... just been thinking of you and thought I'd drop by and say hello. To keep you company in hospital for a while. I brought you a special visitor ... a little kitty plus a bunch of flowers for you. Hope you enjoy.

Sending love and get well wishes. I hope your darling daughter is beginning to improve post operation.

Thanks so much Em - what a wonderful thought and beautiful picture's. Life in hospital is what it is and at least sandwiches are easy to eat in bed and time passes. I am thinking of you too and hoping you are okay and also knowing your operation is a really big deal

You certainly drew the short straw but you are a beautiful person and my life is better for having you in it

My daughter has been having a rough time - three screws in her hips

Hi again Em

My surgeon just came in and so I posted what I had written rather than lose it

I think my daughter is in for a rough road recovering from this operation - she has been through a lot already

I will be thinking of you - praying also - and sending my love and best wishes

Hi @Emelia8 @Anastasia @Appleblossom @BlueBay

Sunday morning - I woke up early and my shoulder was very painful - the medication time eventually came and that has worked well but I am wary of moving my shoulder

Back soon - I have to post this or lose it

I'm back - hospitals are great places for interruptions

I have had my COVID test with no trouble

My daughter is home from hospital and I am sure she is very uncomfortable - I know It's better to get home asap after surgery but she had a lot of pain naturally - yeah

I will be going home the day after mine which will be on Tuesday and I am looking forward to that

As - they want me to have a sbower and I will - but not just yet

Re: Life can be a Pain

Good morning @Owlunar ... always great to hear from you. I know typing is difficult and painful for you, so I really appreciate the effort you make to keep us all informed.

Sounds like everything is happening to ensure your shoulder procedure takes place on Tuesday.

They have sent your daughter home quite early, but as you say they dont like to keep people in hospital any longer than absolutely necessary. Most people do better at home anyway, provided pain levels are controlled and there is adequate support at home. I guess your Daughters hubby will take good care of her as she continues to recover and grow stronger.

Enjoy the shower ... I do love my showers. Something I expect I will have to avoid for a week or so after my surgery. Sponge baths .... oh Yuk!

Okay ... gotta go. Take care. Sending love.

Emelia 💕🤗

Hey @Owlunar

Good to hear from you.

You are pretty patient about being a patient. I guess loads of experience wil do that.

I do hope your daughter has adequate home support.

Keep us in the loop when you are able.
