Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @Shaz51

You have only one kidney and that's becoming toxic and people day you don't look sick - aw - perhaps they have never seen you well! How sad people say or enen think that - people don't get onto the organ transplant list just to pass the time - I wonder about people some times

How much further can you last with all these toxins building up without dialysis? It's a rather strange thing - we can't see you and don't know your name and we seem to know you are far from well

As the British say "There's none so queer as folks"

They will say it anyway Shaz but it's crappy and we do care

Perhaps some of us worked out a way to see the world differently

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @outlander @Shaz51 @Zoe7 @BlueBay

One thing a week in hospital has done has made me even more determined not to spend any more time there - it's really hard to think a week of my life drifted past when the highpoint of my day was reading free copies of the newspaper and spending too much time thinking about COVID-19

I think the pain is getting less because I am taking fewer of the deadly-space-out-wafers - I can't imagine anyone liking them -

But I don't want to see much of the news - some of it yes - because one needs half and eye on reality but I would guess that at some stage nearly everyone will be at a stage where it's all enough. Ths is one of three bad years in my life - at my age three bad years isn't bad I think - but yes - I must say that tearing a should tendon was not in my diary - and that's not the only problem there - I knew it was degrading and it wasn't my imagination but enough is enough

I just hope I can last it out - the pain and the tablets are draining me and I am physically and emotionally really tired.

And I need a hair cut

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thank @BlueBay

I saw my daughter briefly yesterday - she was here for a few minutes and gave me my birthday presents - she was on her way back from having an MRI and it was horrible seeing her in so much pain - she had delayed taking her pain medication so she could drive and I had delayed mine so I wasn't spaced out - what a fantastc pair

I don't mind being alone but weeks of isolation has grown whiskers and a week of total isolation has grown whiskers - I am sure the time will pass and can have the procedure on my shoulder which will deaden the nerve carrying the pain from the joint with no cartilage and a torn tendon plus other worn out parts - much better than joint replacement surgery

Mostly I am tired - my son's anniversary came and went and left me drained

Thanks - Dec 💗🦉

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @BlueBay @outlander etc Thanks for all your support - I do appreciate it

My daughter's slipped disc is L4/L5 - the same one that has brothered me all this time - she is off work for the time being and we hope she can keep her job - right now she is already planning to reskil

I had my COVID test and now I have to be in total isolation until I go into hospital next Friday - and I can't go out and I can't have anyone in except to assist me with my shower next week - I have to say this is all pretty bleak and expensivel

Regardless - I am always going to get a laugh somewhere - I warned my doctor that I was likely to gag - he swabbed my nostril - I sneezed violently - nearly blowing him over -then my throat and I I gagged - enough - to make him move out of my way - :face_with_rolling_eyes:🤣

I have an emoji with a mask and I found some pics of masks with owls and better still - owls with masks -yes

Glad you got a laugh out of an otherwise not so nice experience @Owlunar Love the new emoji - very poignant for today's times. Hugs and hugs Hon

Thanks @Zoe7

Sometimes the small issues can be harder to deal with than the big ones - the masks feel onerous to me 😷😷😷👎and the test I could go without 😵 - and wonder how long can the lockdown last - will we ever be able to travel interstate again

Still the isolation and the financial situation need harder adjectives and adjustments have to hit us in the face - do they ever - but I still live by the percept - mils bastando carborundum -

Enough venting - even if I feel sure I will last it out - someone different did my shopping and instead of 2 carrots and two potatoes I have two kilograms of each - gotta laugh at that one

The situation for you and others in Victoria is so hard @Owlunar We are so lucky here to not only live on an island but also the way it has all been dealt with by botht he government and community. For me personally nothing really has changed over this period but I really feel for you and others needing to isolate again.

You will be eating carrots and potatoes for weeks 🤣 I usually have a lot of carrots in the fridge but even for me 2kgs would be pushing it all at once.
