Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Thanks for sharing the picture of your garden @Owlunar . It looks very neat and tidy and I'm sure it will be great in a few months once it gets established 🙂

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Former-Member

I love the use of imagery when I have to do something or endure something I am not excited about - when I have and MRI I imagine I am seeing the places I have been on holidays and it's great how quickly the time goes

It's always helpful with sleep too - one trick I like is to imagine another story from a film I have watched or a book I have read - I guess I never get to the good part or the ending to write it but my imagination enjoys itself and I enjoy myself doing this

It was excellent waking up this morning and not feelling the stress I had been controlling for months - I decided I wouldn't think about the pain specialist situation until after I had been to Cairns - then I had so much to do - I had an MRI and sorted out a psychologist and the specialist and I had to wait for both which was okay - and also I had a lot of paper-work to do for the specialist - I wonder if they ever read all of that - and I did an a activity diary for two days and there was more paperwork when I got to the clinic as well - at least I have done that and it seems worth all that effort

What can I find on imagery?

It will be great @Gazza75

They always do a fantastic job and this time they have laid down a lot of tan-back that will keep the weeds from taking over

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar ( grandma Gonzales’s) I liked that. 😁😁😁😁

Your garden is looking beautiful. They have done a great job. Yes, watering will get you up and going over the summer mths. Hopefully with little or no pain.

Appointments over and it looks like @Gazza75 is sharing some of the magic in DP. Always beautiful and encouraging to many of us here.

Sending warm thoughts, hoping it’s not too hot in your area today. 💕💕💕💕☕️☕️☕️☕️

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @BlueBay

I do have a great family and it was good catching up yesterday - and I am very pleased my garden and looks they worked hard and fast and got the whole garden done quickly - the back was pruned and weeded and that makes the cute little courtyard look like a nice place to go outside and eat in the sun

And yes _ my appointment did go well - I am pleased with the outcome though it means facet joint injections which helped me in the past

It's good to see you here this evening - I hope you get a good night's sleep and feel better tomorrow after such a bad night

And today I feel strung out like an over-tested rubber band - and outchies from the physical pain where I was probed - the doctor has to check out the arthritis I guess

And - and - I went to sleep in the chair with the computer on my lap - I'm glad I didn't let it fall onto the floor

You have had a lot of changes in your life too - but most of it is sorted now

All the best

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay @Gazza75 @Maggie @eth @Former-Member

After all the stress I was carrying around (and dealing with) for months actually has really caught up with me and I am b*gg*red - totally 0_/_]]

I woke up with a headache that turned into a migraine - I got comfortable in a chair with the TV and relaxed and closed my eyes and I think I was actually asleep and really - people hardly ever knock at my front door but today they did - however it was a kind man about religion and he could see I was not well and just gave me a card and it actually felt better and I went back to sleep for quite a long time I think

As I was sitting there taking no notice of the TV I remembered my son's 50th birthday would be on Monday - aha - that's why I had the migraine - and one last week actually - I get them when time finds its way around his dates. It's really weird that he would have been turning 50 because in my mind he still has pimples and not wrinklels and his curly hair is jet black and people come into my home and see his photo and say "What a handsome young man that is" - yes - he was and among the clutter of his life I do have some great memories to keep forever

And I am recovering from - okay - not so much the interview with the pain specialist because this man is holding out treatment for my spine which worked in the past - but the 4 months leading up to it. Yes - I know it can be hard making decisions like that but I did and there is a good side and a not so good side - for the sake of my well-being I took the hard choice - for me it would have been far worse to stay where it was not likely to improve

However - it is a lovely day today - and my migraine has shifted - I feel very tired and I want to cook a decent meal today as I have been eating very little over last week

And my garden looks fantastic - the plants at the front will pick up soon I am sure - we had quite a bit of rain here last night

Thanks for your great support everyone
