Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Oh hi @outlander @Shaz51 @Maggie @Gazza75 @BlueBay @Zoe7 etc

Winter is over and it's the first day of spring and I am really glad this is the case - it has been a pretty tough winter in Melbourne and I have been reading that a lot of people have been battling

And Fathers Day - which could have passed me by - my Dad passed away over eight years ago now and he was a man I loved deeply and he was also a man of faith prepared to leave when his time came. I thought of a fatherless Fathers Day when I was out shopping on Friday but I enjoy my father during his life time and I am at peace with it - and I think I am really blessed that way

And I am just about packed up to leave tomorrow - I have to book a taxi for the afternoon and I think I have finished packing - I have a lot less than the last time - I can wash my clothes at the hotel which is better than taking so much extra - it's a battle with the suitcase even though it's small - anyway

I am glad I am spending the night at the airport hotel - that is luxury plus there - much better to do that than leave home ridiculously early on Tuesday for that early flight - and I am so looking forward to the tropics - I wish you guys were all coming too -

Maybe this year we can have the pool party - that would be fun -

All the best everyone - I will be in touch

@Owlunar I didn’t realise your holiday was this soon - tomorrow.

Thats great. Get away from this cold weather. I’m happy for you.

I remember in your posts you always spoke fondly of your dad.

I love my dad more than my mum. Can that be possible?

Anyway wishing you a great holiday. Cairns will be so nice. ❤️❤️

Yes good idea staying the night at the airport. Makes sense. So often we’ve had 6am flights and we would leave home at 3.30am. That’s what we should do.

Hi @BlueBay

I booked my trip with only a couple of weeks to wait - and that time has been full of bad weather it seems and I am so glad to be getting away from Melbourne for a couple of weeks - and although my trip to the Sunshine Coast wasn't that long ago it seems to have taken forever to get through winter - has it not!

Of course you can love your father more than your mother - in fact - it's normal for girls - normal for boys to seem to love their mothers more but it is after all - something I read in a psychology book somewhere - our father is often the first male we connect with.

I get it - I loved my father more but I recollect my mother seemed to really find me hard to deal with - actually I think I was honest and obedient and did my school work well - but I was spirited and that was really hard for her and she made it hard for me and in my mind she asked for what she got - but I also feel sorry for her - she was afraid of so many things and didn't want to know about things or think about things - she was stuck somewhere and co-dependent -

Anway - I can let her go now - I have certainly grown past her - my Dad - sometimes I feel as if he is in the next room and I could just go and talk to him - I never do - but I have accepted that he has died

Your holiday is very close too - next month - it seems a long time to wait but it will get here just as fast and the hotel at the airport - it's very luxurious - Internation Five Star Standard - bigger than my loungeroom and the view runs the full length of the room and if I get on the Eastern side of the hotel I can see from Arthurs Seat to Mount Slide and last year I watched the sunrise which was brilliant -

It's much easier than getting up in the middle of the night to get to the airport - the idea is to leave the room early though because everyone leaves at the same time to catch their early flights and the lifts are crowded with people and their luggage - there's a bridge going over the road to the airport and it gets pretty busy and the airport is really busy so I leave pretty much as soon as I get up - I have breakfast in the lounge and that's when I catch up with myself - crowded airports are not easy to navigate and also - I have learned to watch for gate and terminal changes - going though security once is okay - twice is excessive -

The more I travel the more I learn - I am much better at it than I was 4 years ago when I started my adventures

I wish you the best though - I do keep forgetting it's Fathers Day - and it's time I had lunch

I'm so glad you are feeling better

sheesh - It's Monday - I gotta get moving

I have to get moving my dear friends - I have to go to Flight Centre to get my boarding pass and to see my doctor for a travel letter and be ready after lunch for my taxi -

Somehow I have all those clothes - and my shorts - packed into my little suitcase -

It's so wonderful - sharing my holiday with you - I wish you were all coming with me

I intend to enjoy the tropics - oh yes!!

Enjoy the music and the atmosphere

Take it easy under the trees

Relax by the pool and pretend to be a beach bum

Gotta get a move on - there is sure to be something I have forgotten - Cairns has a lot of shops though

Back later -
