Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Sounds like a wonderful trip up to Cairns @Owlunar I love that ipad gizmo that allows you to zoom in on what you're flting over - amazing.

All good with me. No depression. Everything going great.

Thanks for bringing the beautiful weather. We are having mid 20's today. And I'm hot. Lol.

Hi @utopia

It's great that you have no depression right now - how wonderful it is to read that - and I wish you the best and hope it continues

After all the crap you had to deal with in hospital it's something well deserved - that was some kind of nightmare

I loved that IPAD gizmo - I think I spent more time with that and looking out of the window and anything else on the plane and the trip so far north takes hours but I enjoy flying - it is over so quickly

And I brought the good weather back with me - this was something I seem to do when I go away - I had lovely weather in Cairns too - last night I looked up information on Cairns and September really is the best month to go

So we can all enjoy spring now that the harsh Melbourne winter is over - it lasted a bit too long for fun really

So glad to hear you are well Utopia

Hi @outlander

The pic isn't up yet but it's great to see you again - and I think I heard that you have had a drop in your mental health lately - I guess we all get that -

I feel more that I have emotional discomfort - but what is in a name anyway? Before I went away I was fed up with Melbourne's dreary days - they just kept coming one after another with grey skies and my mood was only lifted by the thought of going away - what a treat to get to another city - which is really small with a large population - and have warm air and hot sun and I soon got used to walking around in the heat and I didn't want to come home

But Melbourne has great weather - and I hope your hand is improving - I did read the way you injured it somewhere - this is when I am lurking on my phone and then I forget where I read what I read but that was a really disastrous thing for a hand - and hands have a lot of nerve endings so they hurt more - I am sorry that happened to you

Apart from a bad pain day yesterday I have felt much better after getting home - better than I have for the duration of winter I think - oh wait - that's right - I had an annus horribilis or a horrible year - from last August when I hurt my knee in Sydney until the August just gone so yeah - I feel better than I have for a year

All the best Outlander - I will be looking forward to seeing the pic when it comes up

Hi @Former-Member and @Zoe7

I had a wonderful trip - I did write a post but it was too identifying and I hadn't thought of that - but I think I included enough that I had a really good time and could have stayed and maybe I will go next year -

I have an old cat and I don't like leaving her for too long - she is 15 next month and I love the demanding little girl - she is getting very clever in her old age and is a real character - when I got home I didn't have a pu ss y cat melt-down as I did once last year but rather pathetic cries from inside as I was battling to open the front door

The hot weather seemed to heal me - I was starting to get rather down with the gloomy winter we have had - I guess millions feel the same - and it was great to walk down the street or sit on my balcony with my back to the sun and feel the heat getting in there - really the best stuff - hot sun - I even have a bit of a tan - so I am told

It was good that took my computer - I was able to post a little but I wasn't in my room that much either - however I kept in touch with whatever was happening - the forum is an important part of my life and I am very glad to be keeping in touch with people today

Cairns is a great place to go - last night I read a lot of history of Cairns - I had a question - why build a city here - but it was a place for trade for sugar cane and gold and now tourism - it has an international class airport a long way from a capital city - I was so interested - I did go to a museum while I was in Cairns - I get very interested in the places I visit

This is my 6th trip in 3 years - I am really starting to stretch my wings now - where shall I go next? I have no idea yet

I am so pleased for you @Owlunar that you had such a great time away in the sun. The daylight hours are getting longer and the temperature is slowly rising so we know the core of winter is behind us. I look forward to the warmer weather and my mood certainly lifts more with the increse in daylight hours.

Much like you I like learning about the history of different places - it gives you a different perspective of the area knowing a bit about settlement and why a location was chosen.

Re: New Post: Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @Zoe7

I know a lot of history and I am always willing to absorb more - Tassie is one place I know about partly because of my relatives being there for so long and my frequent visits to Tassie over the years

But I had never thought about Cairns - I had not thought about going there until the Friday before I rang my agent to book my trip - and even then I didn't know much and saw how far north it is and directly north of Melbourne - and sooooooooo far away

I have never been so are away from home before but it was okay - strange yeah - I am so okay about so many things in my old age but being in the tropics was a new thing - and some people live there all their lives and other people travel constantly

Of course I know Victoria and Tasmania well - I am stretching my wings and yes - I know why it took so long - so much was out of my control for a long time but I am making up for lost time
