Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Zoe7

The trouble was my sore toenail was up there with all the other horrible toenails - aw - this is not good

The doctor gave me a couple of samples of anitbiotics to take until I could get to the pharmacy - and I woke up feeling terrible - I have an upset tummy and I needed to get the script filled and I have to take these antibiotics if I can so I got some tablets for the nausea too and I am starting to feel a lot better

What fun we are all having right now - so many people are crook

I am thinking that the way I am feeling could be kickback from the anniversary and other things that are happening - my toenail is a physical issue that I have inherited - my father had the same problem - but my upset tummy could be kickback and really natural - I can hope that this passes and I am feeling much better than I did when I woke up this morning

So - about you - how were you overnight? How are you this morning? Is your tummy agreeable with your antibiotics and are the pain killers doing enough for you. Yes - it's true your tooth is out now forever and toenails grow back - I have been through all of this before - but getting another tooth out feels worse -

Enough

Today we are having strong wind today and heavy weather if forecast for for later and I can see it on the BOM radar - luckily I really don't feel at all like walking today - but for the time being it is good to watch the sun outside

Your support has been so great these last days - I am feeling cared for and I would wait a long time for people in my ordinary world to notice - no one I would feel okay about telling - there is so much strength in peer support

Hi @Sophia1

The support has been wonderful - it has meant so much to me.

I think I am having a backlash today - just hoping the upset tummy settles sometime soon - I am blaming the antibiotics I am taking for my infected toenail are the cause

We can keep all sorts of things out of our consciousness but they do come around to catch us in other ways and today I just need to sit it out

Eating jelly beans

Thanks so much for your support

Hi @Former-Member

I know you are doing hard yards with everything atm but it's true - what we are enduring right now is nothing compared to the joy in heaven when the time comes

Take one day at a time sis - gradually things will fall into place - I hope you can keep your sibs out of it so you can care for your Dad with the love both of you deserve

I can't comment on the way your sibs behave but as I said before - I reckon they are jealous - you are doing a good job there and God knows

Sending hugs

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hopefully your tunny settles down over the next couple of days @Owlunar - the sooner the better for you

It is probably a combination of the stress you have been under these last couple of weeks as well as the AB for your toensil - whatever the cause it is good you have anti-nausea meds to help out.

I am glad you are feeling the love from the community here @Owlunar and I am happy to be able to provide you with even a little of that support - just as you have done for me many times - it does make a difference

My mouth is sore again but I have painkillers and will take them - the pain in my jaw already seems to be diminishing but my mouth is still very tender. Hopefully I will only need the meds for today - but they also helped me with my back in hydrotherapy - did more than I usually do and felt ok - might have been a bit because I was back in the water too and I loved that

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Appleblossom

I do think it's possible my son had some features of Foetal Alcohol Sydrome or Foetal Alcohol Systemic Disorder - I think it is like a Spectrum Disorder and really hard to tell but he was developing alcoholic tendencies very early - thanks for asking - I have not thought about it for a long time now but he did have signs of artheroma in his cardiace arteries and aorta -

One thing I do know is that the passage of time does ease some details of past disasters - I was talking to someone one day and the subject of juvenile heart disorders came up - I remembered that my son had one but I couldn't remember at the time but I did recall it later

I didn't know my son was of an indigneous background until after he died. I was investigating the issue and went to my local member at the time and I was told that a lot of people want to claim indigneous status when they don't really have any - whatever that mean - but when I showed him photos he stopped doubting me and started the ball rolling about finding out some truth - it took me 8.5 years to find his birth mother.

Here's the thing though - had I known what I felt was the truth things might have been different - and it doesn't matter in the least what my family or anyone else thought or felt - it was all about what he thought and felt and I loved him regardless

It was a price I chose to pay and still feel as if I am paying it and it is still my choice - if he had been in contact with other indigenous children and been involved with their activies things might have been different - all these years have made some difference but not enough - not enough
