Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander@Zoe7@Former-Member@Shaz51@utopia

I haven't been in - I guess I find it harder to share than I think

My daughter is still very ill - she might have to have a bigger operation

It does not help me at all that she will usually only communicate by text - I know I have a medical mind and want to know more than she wants to tell me

I know you are there - I thought I was better but I had a reaction to the flu shot and back pain today - and I am really worried - being in ignorance of my daughter's health is a horrible roller-coaster - I don't know how she really feels and that is tough for me - tough for any mother I reckon

It must be really hard for you no knowing what is really going on with your daughter @Owlunar

Some days are ones we just have to get through so we are stronger to tackle the next day to come!

Today seems like one of those days to just get through for you Dec - hoping the reaction to the flu shot and back pain subside for you quickly.

I would find that hard too @Owlunar. Not knowing the full story. Your daughter may not want to worry you unnecessarily. But by not knowing - you will imagine the worst. Can you tell your daughter that?
Sending you a supportive hug. ♥♡

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @utopia@Zoe7@Shaz51

Aw - yes!! - I would worry less if I could see her - at least talk to her - but about worrying

She tends to not worry - she tends not to think about things - at least that what she has always says

So I have an idea this is the way it is for everyone - and because I want to know more - well - this is over-reacting - silly mother

But I feel better when I know all the details - and I ask piercing questions - I have a need to know - you should hear me question the doctors who might operate on me

It's good to know you are all there

I would want to know everything. So would my mum. I think a lot if people would. So you're not alone in thinking like that @Owlunar.
Definitely here for you ♡♡♡

Re: Life can be a Pain

I think that your needing to ask important questions is a very good thing @Owlunar It's not silly at all.

If I had been able to ask the surgeons the critical questions - then perhaps my bowel surgeries would not have gone so disastrously wrong...

Septic infection, a 2nd emergency surgery, then a 3rd (6 months later) - it was supposed to be just one surgery (necessary).

On the other hand, it's almost impossible to ask enough questions whilst in extreme pain.

Thanks again @Adge@utopia@outlander@Shaz51

I meant that my daughter has an idea that if she doesn't worry about things - even think about them - she has told me she can block thoughts from her mind - and I guess she thinks that other people are the same way - and I am the opposite

Yes - we all need to ask questions - like Shaz and her Mum and Adge - I ask questions - and I know a fair bit of anatomy - I did a year's formal study - and I wanna know!!!!!!!!!

Today - also - I might as well be in for a penny or in for a pound - I had to cancel my appointment with my therapist and I rang at just after 9.00 am - I didn't have the bad back pain yesterday - I couldn't know 24 hours ahead that I was going to have a spike like this one

So I was told I would have to pay $55.00 cancellation fee - I asked about this when I first went there and I was told this wouldn't apply if I was sick - but yeah - seeing as I can't predict really bad pain days then I told them I was not going back - and not paying them either -

I know myself from past experience and advice from my pain specialist that it is better not to push things at all when the pain spikes - it can take longer to settle and I am the one who pays. I was feeling pretty trashed during and after the sessions anyway - let's see what happens but I think I have had my 10 for this year -

What a crappy few days - Yes - I know all of you are there and this is a good thing
