Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

@outlander@Former-Member

Hi girls - thanks for the messages and I think the toilet joke is hilarious

Forget about what your mirror says Lapses - and don't get a new one - the relection alters slowly but then - like Outlander - I think your lovely too -

I am feeling a bit better today - maybe getting used to the the tablet - I am distracted by all the noise here - airport, lawn-mower - the guy next door and his angle-grinder - no wonder I have my TV on for white noise. It always helps to be in charge of our our noise - whatever it is

My daughter hasn't sent me a text today - she's an excessively private person and I leave her to it at times - I will text her in a few moments - I have been thinking about myself more over the weekend but today - well yes - I am more myself - I woke up feeling better in the world and so whatever chaos happens today has been mostly noisy so far -

So where ever you ladies are up to - have the best day possible - I have sent you a message already Lapses

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander@Former-Member@utopia@Zoe7

I spoke to my daughter today - she has been so ill since her surgery - I won't go into any details but after spending a few hours in a private hospital ermergency she has been home taking strong pain-killers with anti-nausea - a lot of pain and other unpleasant symptoms and she sounds exhausted

Also I saw my doctor this afternoon - he wants me to continue the BP tablets and maybe increase them - but with my BP machine I know I don't have high BP all the time and then I am in serious pain - but I agree it still needs to be treated - and I am not happy about this - I guess I am just tired of having things go wrong. Ever since I tripped and hurt my knee in Sydney last August I have had one painful issue after another and also other family members are ill and my uncle - I have decided to get a cordless phone in case I get a phone call in the middle of the night -

Over all today I have been feeling better but I am tired of all the pain - and I know other people are too - and I care about all of you - more people than I can speak too - I know emotional pain is tougher than physical pain and other people have both

But the time will pass and hopefully tomorrow will dawn with my daughter and I both feeling better - I send emails to my uncle now they have had their computer fixed and when my daughter is better I can send them another one of my newsy emails with good news

I hope everyone has the best night possible - I have read some of the new messages coming in - I don't always do that - but I am going to bed soon -

hi @Owlunar

sorry to hear about your daughter, poor thing hope she recovers soon. shes lucky to have you too supporting her.

hoping you can keep your BP under control with these meds and then you wont have to monitor everything so much. youve had it pretty rough with your situation too both mentally and physically. takes it toll very quickly but it seems your doing the right things to keep helping yourself too. well done

hope you sleep well and tomorrows an at least ok day for you

Re: Life can be a Pain

I don't think one pain is any worse than another @Owlunar. Physical or emotional. It's still pain.
I'm sorry to hear that you still have to keep on with the bp meds. And I know what you mean by everything happening after the knee.
Once I had the workplace incident - I developed, anxiety, depression and PTSD. I fell down the stairs and broke my leg. I still have pain and swelling in that foot. Then I got blood clots in the same leg. Then I had a stroke. Ended up in a psych hospital. Now on bp medication and cholesterol tablets and asprin, vitamin B1 meds. And I don't think I will ever, ever be the same as I was, prior to that incident at work.
And I still get so angry about that. My ex employer doesn't care. WorkCover don't care. Centrelink don't care. They all just like to add more and more stress onto me. One day I think I might explode.
Sorry. Sounding like a pity party. And this is meant to be about you.
I don't know anything much about what your daughter has gone through. Even though I know what it was. So I don't know if pain at this point is common or not. It might be worth asking her or googling the recovery time.
I imagine she must be feeling pretty low right now. As are you. And both from too much pain. God, if we could all just avoid pain.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia

My daughter had a laparascopy for endometriosis - a curette and then had a mirena put in to help with her bad periods and I am furious that they put and IUD into right after her curette - she has had serious pain and the tablets made her throw up and she has been really ill for what was supposed to be a couple of days off work

But she won't be going back to work at least until the end of the week - and am shocked at what has happened but I spoke to my doctor and he said that was not what he thought of as good - the mirena could have gone in after her uterus had recovered from the curette.

I KNEW there was something wrong - I just knew - mother's instinct or something like that - and yet I know it's not good saying anything except being comforting and kind to her - she is a very private person and having a strange feeling that things had gone wrong was really tough

Now I have said what I wasn't going to - but I needed to say it I think
