Negativity and arguing

Negativity and arguing

  • Hi I'm new here 🙂

I just wanted to share this on here.

My partner of 27 years is so negative about everything, he works full time and long hours, he's very tired and mostly just wants to watch TV.

He's younger than me but doesn't have much energy. I no longer work due to health issues and I am nearing retirement.

The arguing and bickering is awful, it's making me depressed, so now to stop the arguments I don't really speak much and agree with most things he says so we don't fall out. I have lots of pain and I'm on my own alot, I could go on explaining as there's lots of problems, but I'll stop here for now. He won't get any help with his negative attitude.

Thank you for reading this 🤗

I understand why he has been depressed

Working all day, mentally puts him down making he feels worthless or he needs to work to get your approval!

Just be happy, he act on your happiness

Kiss him, cuddle him make him feel like he everything to you

From Me(a depressed guy)

He doesn't need to work to get my approval! I wish he didn't have to work so we could spend more time together and build on our relationship, it's the negativity about everything that is getting us down 😔

I once saw an Oprah episode on gratitude journalling. At two of my lowest points, once due depression, once due to anxiety, I practised gratitude. The first time, I kept a beautiful journal but second time it was all mental. Does he appreciate beauty? Dymocks in Sydney has some beautiful journals. Lucky Charm at QVB had beautiful gilded ones before Xmas. It could sugar coat practising gratitude to him. Even though he is busy, he could not a few things down whilst watching tv.

Hi 👋🏼 @Lovedogsforever, I’m Glisten please to meet you. Have you drank enough water today?

Are you keeping cool?

Have you got outside and gone for a walk?

Because the only control that you have, is what you do.

What brings you joy?

What makes you smile and laugh?
