Mental health and Relationships

Mental health and Relationships

Taking care of our mental health is very important as it can affect not only us but also our relationships. Mental health is crucial in relationships, as it affects communication, trust, and emotional connection. Struggles like anxiety, depression, or stress can lead to misunderstandings, emotional distance, or conflicts, making it harder to maintain healthy bonds. When one partner experiences mental health challenges, it may create strain, leading to feelings of frustration or helplessness. Prioritizing mental well-being helps build resilience, improve self-awareness, and foster stronger, more supportive relationships.

Re: Mental health and Relationships

Very true! I feel my husband cannot support me like he did in the first 8 years of our marriage and somehow I translate this in my head as he doesn’t love me.

My mental health has taken such a huge dip since December and I am struggling so badly to overcome it. The anxiety attacks are there almost every night and sometimes during the day. Needing medication to sleep and still having horrible nightmares. I don’t know what to do anymore where to seek help from … feel so lonely in my struggle. So hopeless, so unworthy ….

Hi @Mariyah welcome to the forums, I am Jazz one of the moderators sounds like its a difficult time for you and understandably you would feel this way. It can be really painful. Glad you have reached out here. There are helplines and counselling support around on our website if you need as that can be helpful to process some of these emotions. Also you can look on other peoples stories and see if you can connect with others. Maybe others on this forum have also felt this way. Great to have you here x
