Life flips like...

Life flips like...

I joined this forum to better understand my partner who is being treated for multiple mental health issues including Anxiety, ADHD, Paranoia and Eating Disorder. I read a lot and combined with our couples therapist and such have come a long way.
But now I am thrown out the window. My partner hooked back up with her ex husband (who she has a DVO against) and set me up and has now a DVO out on me! From Sunday I am homeless with nothing, no clothes, nowhere to sleep except my car. She has had me barred from our home we just bought and has emptied our bank accounts. I am so twisted up inside and my mental health has deteriated to almost breaking point. I need help. I need understanding. I want to be heard but no-one cares. I have about $70 until I get paid on Friday - not even enough to get a motel room. I have slept about 4 hours since Saturday and tried eating last night but couldn't. How could I go from a reasonable person of resonable mental health to someone who just wants all this pain to go away? I always thought mental health was a long term condition, not really something that could be triggered so fast and send me spiraling downhill so fast too.
Thank you for letting me share.

Hello @Williams and welcome to the forums

I'm glad that you've found this place to share and connect. It sounds like this has been an incredibly difficult and confusing time for you and that the decline that you've noticed in your mental health is a natural reaction to these events - I think that anyone would struggle being in this position.

In terms of better understanding your partner's behaviour, I don't know that anyone other than her can truly explain why they have behaved in this way.

Do you have anyone who may be able to reach out to, a safe place to stay while you get this sorted out?

I would like to offer you some resources that should be able to offer support:

Firstly, AskIzzy is like a services database where you can find supports near you that help with a range of things, from housing, food, legal, financial...

Secondly, given what you've shared it does sound important that you seek some legal advice so I would contact Legal Aid

I'm really sorry that you've going through this and hope that you can keep on reaching out here for support

@Williams hello and welcome to the forums. I hope you find this space a safe place to share your feelings and that you can feel supported by the community here.

I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through and it sounds like a truly difficult time for you to navigate. I definitely second @Ru-bee suggestion with seeking legal advice.

Please try to look after yourself and i hope you can find somewhere safe to stay until you can get yourself back on track. It's no surprise that this is affecting your mental health and it's so important that you reach out for help when you are feeling like things are spiralling downhill. Have you got a gp that you can reach out to for support?

We are here for you and you are not alone.

Re: Life flips like...

Go see Salvation Army or vinnies they will house you or a man’s shelter or a homeless shelter. You will now need to claim Centrelink benefits until you get back on your feet. I’m sorry this happened to you what a wicked witch.
