Defeated - hopeless helplines

Defeated - hopeless helplines

Hi @Former-Member

I wish your situation was unique and rare but here is proof it is not. I got desperate today and tried to reach out yet again and I don't even know why. It's pointless and hopeless. No one can help me and I am here alone, isolated, neglected, emotionally abused and I don't know how people expect you to keep fighting when you get brave and reach out and there's nothing. It's faulted for sure.

I wish i could tell you this was the first time I've had this conversation but it's not. I wander how to get these jobs. They seem to really do minimal.

Re: Defeated - hopeless helplines

i'm so sorry you had this experience again @Former-Member i know that for some, helplines have been really helpful, and for others, it's done the opposite - it's like a game of chance, sometimes you get someone who gets you, and other times, you don't - which absolutely sucks, and i wish i could click my fingers and make helpline text/call-taker a perfect person.

in reality, some of these text/call-takers could be burnt out/overworked, undertrained, having their own battles, etc. this is NOT an excuse for their treatment at all. but the only reason i say this is so you know that their mistreatment towards you is nothing to do with you and everything to do with themselves. you are NOT at fault for reaching out.

regardless of the helpline, please know that you are ALWAYS deserving of support. you ALWAYS deserve to be heard. and your feelings are ALWAYS valid.

also if you feel up to it, i encourage you to file/email a complaint with the helpline directly so that action/change can be made there.

sending you gentle hugs 💜

@Former-Member I'm so sorry to hear of your experiences. It's horrible reaching out for help when you so desperately need it only to feel rejected and your feelings dismissed. Please know that I'm here for you and so are the forums.

Keep fighting and take care of you, you are worthy and you are valued ❤️

@Former-Member well the crisis lines are just off to a great start today, NOT. I need them so much today so I really hope that changes.

I am so sorry @Former-Member

@meanwhile me searching Spotify for the best dissociation playlist 🫣

we all do what we can hey. I don't think anyone can ever truly understand or give the right answer because it's not their walk. It's yours and only you hold that but we are here to listen to it all.

Re: Defeated - hopeless helplines

@Former-Member so far 2 out of 3 have been helpful so it's something at least. It's going to be such a long and draining day for me.

I was listening to my Spotify but I just can't handle it right now, it's like every song somehow triggers me in some way. I gotta hang my washing out but that feels like such a big task right now.

That's so true, noone can truly understand what it's like but it's even harder when I don't even know what I'm supposed to do anymore. Other than just try to keep breathing and keep on existing.

Re: Defeated - hopeless helplines

@Former-Member i most the time when that happens listen to audiobooks or podcast something random but interests me or YouTube talk. I don't know I've only listened to mysic 24/7 my whole life but since music has been emotional but I need something to drown the noise in my head so this seems to mostly work🤷🏻‍♀️

Re: Defeated - hopeless helplines

@Former-Member music is usually one of my go to things but lately it's not enough to drown out the noise in my head. I keep trying, my radio is on constantly throughout the day so I tune in and out to it. But sometimes I chuck my ear pods in and crank some music to jam to 😂.

Re: Defeated - hopeless helplines

Haha yes @Former-Member I was in hospital for 14 weeks last year and they always loved how I had music on 24:7. It really is my religion. That's how I know the situation is bad when I remove myself from it because it's a big part of my identity especially as a musician and singer before I became ill.

In saying that I have always been a terrible sleeper but since finding the healing frequency sounds I get such better sleep. It's a miracle really.

Re: Defeated - hopeless helplines

@Former-Member that's a long time to be in hospital and I'm glad you had and still have music, it's such great therapy in itself.

Sleeping has been impossible for me but I haven't found anything that helps yet. I'm glad you found something to help you though, that's awesome.
