My husband is being petty

My husband is being petty

My husband and I had a nikah (a halal Islamic marriage) ever since then we've been having an ongoing low-key fight but it's more like a petty back and forth t!t for tat, I wasn't ready at the time and it was a bit of a misunderstanding on both parts because I wasn't educated and he thought I knew what a nikah was, so I've been referring to him as my boyfriend and he would get mad and then say we were just friends, I didn't understand why he kept doing this until I came across a nikah ceremony on tiktok, I still would've married him if I had known, but unfortunately my childhood friend who I allowed into my home until she got back on her feet unded up being a sociopath and a pathological liar, she convinced me he was cheating on me whislt simultaneously convincing him the same about me, she did break us up for a while and I threw his stuff in the bin, which i regret but hey considering how common it is who wouldn't believe it, anyway now we are on talking terms again and we believe eachother but now we're back to arguing about previous problems, now he's saying I'm not his wife and that he's marrying an Afghan woman back in Iran, but the night before he said this, we had a romantic dinner and spent the night in a hotel room and he told me he was getting a new place for us, so I think he's just being petty again and trying to make me feel how he felt in the beginning, I just want him to propose and I want a wedding, I just want my husband to stop being petty and go back to loving me the way I love him, but he seems to be extremely stubborn and petty, I don't know what to say or do to get us back on track, I don't see myself with anyone else, I don't think I'll ever love anyone the way I love him and I don't want anyone else, I want to start a family with him and grow old together, does anyone have any advice and has anyone dealt with something similar?

Re: My husband is being petty

Hi @Drphilplease

Welcome to the forums.

I'm so glad you've reached out here. There will always be someone willing to listent and support you through what you are expeiencing. Connecting with others can be a great resource during challenging times.

While I may not be deeply familiar with the full traditions and teachings of Nikah, my understanding is that this sacred bond often comes with the guidance of a guardian, usually a Mehram, who is there to support and protect your best interests.

Do you have a trusted Mehram or another supportive family member you can turn to for advice and guidance during this time?

Having someone to help you navigate these challenges may be helpful as you work through your feelings and conflicts.

It's clear that you are committed to this relationship and are willing to put in the effort to improve communication with your partner.

That shows incredible strength and dedication, especially given how unprepared you felt entering into this union.

You are showing a lot of courage by seeking help and being open to learning. I hope you're able to find someone knowledgeable and compassionate who understands the teachings of Nikah and can guide and support you during this process.

Wishing you peace and strength.

Kindly Alisse
