Honestly a bit lost at the moment.

Honestly a bit lost at the moment.

I know that I have issues with mental health, that is a given, but at the moment I can't put a finger on what is wrong. I find myself sometimes not being able to quieten my mind and other times the thoughts are muddled and a certainly blur the lines of reality in my opinion.

I have been given assistance with mental health previously but each time once I seem ok it ceases, the thing is it is helpful for a while but then things become blurred again. I have a cousin who has a mental health illness and recently found that my great grandmother on my father's side also had some issues so much, so she was hospitalized.

I have noticed a pattern so to speak as well, when I am highly stressed my thinking can be a little bit off and that is something that I wasn't aware of until recently as well.

Currently I am fumbling around in the darkness so to speak, as I seek the light switch. I am awaiting a GP appointment and hopefully then we can develop a Mental Health Treatment Plan to go with my Medical one.

@Arbie_wun I wonder if you can be genetically tested for these things?

@Glisten .. I don't honestly know, and of course I don't know the circumstances of the Great Grandmother's hospitalization, but I do know the cousin is also related to some other factors.

My mother's father died a couple of years after World War 2 and was a veteran (not entirely sure of the circumstances there either).

I know that I am overthinking things which also isn't helpful, and I need to find another focus.

@Arbie_wun do you like horses?

I only just got into them recently. Because I am literally surrounded by them. Eight horses and a horse trainer comes everyday.

I live on a friend’s property.

In fact I’m heading down to the East paddock to see Dougie now.

Horses they are a life changing experience.

@Glisten ... my brother and sister-in-law have a farm which has just a few horses..... about a dozen!

There is also "bacon seeds" also called piglets with a couple of sows, there is geese, chickens and also sheep.

Wowzers 🤩 @Arbie_wun Have you thought about a couple of weekends away at your bro’s place?

Do some horse riding?

@Glisten horses are so therapeutic! They pick up on our feelings and are so empathetic and understanding.

Best thing I ever did for myself was getting back into working with horses again. I never leave the arena sad.

@Glisten his farm is only a 5 minute drive from here.... so I can visit any time. I tend to work most weekends but will be having holidays soon so may just do that for a weekend.

@Marzey yes they are therapeutic, used to love brushing them when I was younger. Honestly most animals are good for the soul.

@Arbie_wun what methods and techniques have you been previously taught to help you while you're waiting for all the professionals to come on board?

What things do you enjoy doing that make you happy in your spare time?

Catching up with mates and friends?

Sport?

Can you do some 'self care' and 'self help' while you're waiting for things?

My own battle with anxiety got a lot better once I learnt the only true way to make myself happy, was to find and do those things that make me enjoy life.

It's all well and good thinking about things. But usually it's actions that will make you feel better. Thinking will usually go the other way.

@Marzey

I am going to the gym as much as I can as that does certainly help me mentally as well as physically.

I work weird hours and have the middle of the week off as a 'weekend' so I do a few little trips around normally but lately been looking after my father more than normal after my mother passed as his health isn't great either.

I do like listening to music and playing computer games - and sometimes getting my creative juices flowing with drawing and the like.
