EVERYTHING CATS!!

EVERYTHING CATS!!

Hi everyone,

Seriously... how do we not already have a thread dedicated to cats already?

@Former-Member & @Faith-and-Hope 's conversation in another thread inspired me to start this thread.

This is a place that you can post pictures and talk about everything cats.

Re: EVERYTHING CATS!!

@Former-MemberYes cats do like to be involved in whatever their owner is doing (your cartoon).

I've noticed that. Jelly puss follows me around everywhere, up & down the coridor, into the kitchen, etc...

It was getting rather annoying, but I'll try to be more understanding when she does it.

Re: EVERYTHING CATS!!

My dog use to come check where I was, especially in the shower, kinda cute. With the birds in my big bathroom, they find my shower routine very entertaining it seems lol

Re: EVERYTHING CATS!!

Hi and good morning @Adge and @Former-Member my cat scratches on the screen door and demands to be let in as if she deserves to be inside. But do you think she listens when i tell her to get off the bench? Otherwise i get it the evil eyes. It annoys the hell out of me. And lapses my cat and dog used to do the shower thing but not so much anymore.

@eudemonism
Hi, nice to meet you.
May I tell you something about cats, & us please?
You, & your cat, are a family now. If you haven't done anything to make your cat frightened of you, then your cat needs to feel safe, & have a home to come into. Much the same as if you needed to go back inside & could not open the door without help?
Anyone that adopts any animal has taken the responsibility for that animals safe being, & good health. They are a part of the family, as they are domesticated animals, not wild self reliant.
Your cat needs to know you are there for her, & that she is loved, & safe with you. Cats have all all the emotions & needs just as we do.
You are her leader, & your home is now her home. She does deserve to be inside.
Cats don't have evil eyes, that is an unkind saying, obviously made up by some that doesn't like cats, or has no love for cats. Just wanted to make money from saying that?
Cats are extremely intelligent, loving, & need to be loved, just like we all do. If your cat is annoying you for any reason, why not ask a, Veterinary Professional, or animal Welfare Worker, what they think about this problem you have with your cat?
Also, I don't think you cat, & dog need to have a shower together, or by them selves as cats are always cleaning themselves, they are extremely clean animals, & dogs can be cleaned by using a wash cloth, or a dry wash powder spray, if needed. They both cats & dogs usually love to be brushed gently daily. I have 4 dogs, & 7 cats. I rescued most of them, & I have had some of them & my oldest cat is 23 yrs & still runs & plays, will stick up for herself, & is in near perfect health. She has only ever needed a Vet for desexing & vaccinations. I have always kept her in the house, as the Vet told me the dangers of letting Cats roam.
My oldest dog is 19 yrs & never been sick & doesn't know that she is old. Her 2 puppys are both 17 yrs & both play like puppies & eat like little horses. I have always let them sleep in the house, play in the back yard, & never let them roam. None of my 11 animals have ever has showers, just a tub bath if needed, lots if grooming, as most are long hair animals. I have grown up with lots of animals, & always had animals. When I did let my cats, & dogs roam free many years ago they ended up getting hit by cars, hurt by people/died. Or hurt by other animals, & caught diseases.
Please remember domesticated animals are here for us to love, be loved by, & be looked after by us?
There are rules in your home, & any fur family member will learn the rules in time. If not, plz never punish them, they will only get frightened of you & see you as cruel, as they are after al,l living in our world because we needed them. Always be kind caring, & if in need to ask someone who can help you with your fur family member.
Love & Hugs to you, your cat, & your dog.
Bella & Fur Family xo 🙂

Re: EVERYTHING CATS!!

Ok @Former-Member I'm hearing what you're saying and respect it. And the prospective of where your opinon has come from. (your experiences and your situation ) probably totally different from mine ) and don't forget... you're a female and I'm a man ) (i gather this? ) there is differences between how a man anda woman conduct themselves in all their affairs.) I'm reflecting on what you're saying and i understand perfectly well what you're saying.

And you've obviously taken things out of context which woman are great at doing. (In my opinon ) and I'll let you reflect on what you've gotten wrong. And leave it at that. Assumptions are the mother of all stuff ups. I won't even have dig at the amount of animals you've got and how you go about handling them. (Based on minimal evidence.) Then begin doing what feels like. judging, stereotyping, condescending and giving advice about how you go about it.

I've taken offense about how you have approached and written too me. Based upon something. That is essentially none of your business. And i don't need too. Want too. Of have too explain myself any further too you. If anything i think an apology is called for.

The dog is a guard dog / companion / walking partner / friend. He gets well looked after. And i try to teach him how too and how not too not behave. But he's working that out on his own. And still in his puppy / teen years. And he is getting better all the time. If i did not tell him off.. He would be walking all over me. All in all. He's a pretty good dog great nature. Great with people. Great with other dogs. Just a handful to look after when I'm not well. A little disobedient. Some bad behaviors. But that's what ya get when you dealing with a dog.

The cat is a pet / mouse hunter. She's in an out all day long. Eats, hunts, sleeps, goes to the toilet. Socialising and plays with other cats. She annoys me. And i annoy her sometimes. It's a mutual thing.

They both know where their home is. And they both do their own thing. Just like me.

I ain't a saint. And i ain't an angel. And i don't wanna be i know what repentance is.

Eude & Co xx

I spray the cat with a spray bottle sometimes. Because she gets on the bench after being in the litter tray. (Really annoys me ) And i get really annoyed with the dog because he pulls on the lead. And doesn't come when i call him whilst other dogs or people are around. (Especially when I'm out and about and i give him a bit of freedom ) It's an ongoing thing. The better he behaves the better he gets treated.

Re: EVERYTHING CATS!!

Thanks for keeping me in line though @Former-Member it's good too know that someone else apart from God is watching and making I'm doing the right thing (i need that from time too time ). We're an odd few creatures. And we know this from the inside. (As a group and personal level ). Although we appear perfect from the outside. We know our internal shortcomings and wrongs as a group and on an individual level. It's just the way it goes.

Hi Eudemonism!

I sincerely apologize if what I wrote from my, caring, loving heart, offended you. I am hoping that you, & I can be friends? You sound like a real Champion to me, when it comes to your journey in life, so far.

Offense is a terrible thing, I understand the sting it causes, it sure is a JOY destroyer, isn't it. Many times I have taken thing the wrong way. I'm sure anyone that breathes & lives, will/have felt that sting in their heart, before.

I appreciate the fact that you stuck up for yourself, thinking I was out to hurt you. You sure are a strong intelligent person, the way I see it, from your reply to me. I suppose my love for animals is so strong, that when I see a need, & I think oh, maybe I can help?..... This time I was wrong, you did not need my help.

I live in an area where animals are abandoned to tortment, & abuse. This breaks my heart, because I can only do so much. Yes, I do have a lot of Fur Babies, it's something I have always wanted to do, yet never lived as I do now, so I sadly could not. I sacrific my own social life & money, for these adorable wonderful Babies. I have done it the right way, & council permit me to have them. Thay are all desexed, micro chipped, & registered.

Had I not taken 7 of them in, all 7 would have been put down. I had one mother cat carry all 4 of her tiny baby kittens, one at time, through the early hours of the morning, & place each little darling on my bench near my front door. Waiting for me to come out, & leave meat for her.

This little neglected female cat, who was left to fend for herself & her babies, on rages in a Garbage dump. While the so called owner lived in his house eating & drinking what ever he pleased. The only reason I knew this is because of the Children. I made so many friends, all Children & they always want to care for & save animals. I was one of those Children years earlier, always trying to save Puppies, Kittens, Cats, Birds, even mice!

I prayed for this darling mother cat & babies daily, feed the mother each day this went on for a couple of months. I never saw the babies, just the mother. I cried so much it broke my heart, to think about those tiny babies in such a shocking neglected delema & only the little children & I cared about them. To cut a long story short my emotional & Spiritual efforts were rewarded. The mother, I had desexed, & I still have her 5 years later. I kept one babie a girl, she is desexed, & the cutest little button, she gives me so much love. I named the Mum Sheba, & her daughter Eva.

The other 3 babies were all desexed, & went to loving homes. I just thought as you are an animal lover, & that this being a true story, it may brighten your day?

I sincerely hope so, I am tired & trying to recover from a Nasty Virus at the moment. I will not share any more with you now. I hope that sometime you may like to say hi to me & tell me about your gorgeous Fur Family, only if you really want to, ok?

GOD BLESS You & your family always!

Your Friend!

Bella XO 🙂

Re: EVERYTHING CATS!!

We moved into this house and first brought home our 2 cats over 15 years ago.

I just accepted there would be what I called an ongoing struggle about being on the bench. My cats are a bit like yours, @eudemonism one more so than the other. I did not want to control them too much. When they annoy me I put them in the bathroom, cos my spray bottle was not filled up ... lol .... I decided to go littertrayless as I was not sure I would be well enough to keep it clean and respected the relative cleanliness of cats in nature. I also could not respond quickly when they jump here and there or behind me ... cant turn my head quickly ... so have to let it go ... I like pets to teach kids about nature. I am a bit concerned about over control of any animal.I used to be very triggered and upset about all favouritism games involving humans and animals and have seen people use animals a lot. I am learning more about these issues from a range of different experts at the zoo. Next shift tomorrow. Our CEO is very concerned about animal ethics rather than animal exploitation for an audience. We do rigorous checks on animal welfare. So times have changed for zookeepers too.

I kind of accept I will lose the battle of the benches but keep clean hygienic places and wipe down frequently. ... Calmness in the kitchen was more important than who wins.

Take care guyz
