From what I know, DID stems from the immense stress that a body is subjected to and is the body's way of coping. @Just It doesn't mean you are at fault. Your body is coping the best it can.

I won't share the link in case it is too triggering, but there was a recent court case where for the first time, different alters were called upon to give evidence.

It was such an interesting case to follow, but it shows that the world is moving towards understanding the role of DID in helping people cope. @Just

@tyme thanks. I believe your talking about the court case brought forward by Jeni Haynes against her father. I do know of it. Thankyou for your reply. Yes it was amazing to follow. So brave and strong.

There are potentially multiple viewpoints on this

Under the theory of structural dissociation, what you describe sounds like an Emotional Part EP also known as Trauma Holding Part

If instead of stress or triggers, it showed up while serving a different role, then that'd be ANP Apparently Normal Part also known as Going on with Normal Life Part also known as "Alters"

Both can to my knowledge hold limited subsets of memories. And be stuck in the past

Thanks for your reply And insite. It's good to hear. I'm just working through stuff. See my therapist soon. But don't always remember what I need to ask at therapy. And like to get information from different sources now as it seems so new. Every idea and experience others have helps a lot in putting some sense to it all. @DogMan79 @tyme

Hey @Just ,

I'm not sure if this helps, but between my psych appointments, I used to write down points as I come to them. It ensures I don't 'waste' my psych appointments.

Do you think writing things down as you come to them will help you remember what to focus on in each session?

All the best. And once again, great to see you!

@tyme thanks yes I'm writing what I can each morning and have questions for therapy. Which I think is going well. Feeling less in the dark than I did a few months ago. Also a bit more settled. But tired, a good tired I think I will sleep better tonight. Love to all. Goodnight.
