Something’s not right

I too wanna leave this country

I too wanna leave this country

Reading by the title of the article itself, it’s completely 100% understandable as to why some aussies are already leaving this country and I don’t blame them for that. like I can’t stress this enough…

Everything here is already getting so expensive. Like how..???

Yet there’s other countries out there where everything there is a lot cheaper compared to here..

Yes @Blackcloud , I think you’ve mentioned that about your parents. It’s really good to see you have up and go in you and you want a job etc. @Blackcloud . Maybe things will be different for you? Who knows? Your YouTube work sounds interesting.

Re: I too wanna leave this country

@Blackcloud the time for my lease renewal is coming up very soon so I'm extremely worried about it happening. But it's out of my control, all I can do is hope it doesn't go up again.

Re: I too wanna leave this country

@Former-Member no worries. I’m currently waiting to join the waitlist for next semester for a different student accomodation to live at because after my contract lease is up for renewal this July (or I choose not to renew it), I was told that the rent prices will increase by up to $20 or $30 more than what the rent prices are now. So hopefully the other ones I’ll find are not anywhere near as $500 a week or more than that

Re: I too wanna leave this country

@Blackcloud it's just ridiculous, my rent jumped $50 a week. I wish you all the best with finding something suitable for you and hopefully as cheap as possible.

@Former-Member Thank you ❤️🫶🏼 I hope you’re doing okay today. How are things going for you right now?

Re: I too wanna leave this country

@Blackcloud honestly I'm feeling pretty numb but I'm emotionally exhausted. Right now I'm ready to just walk out of here cos it's not really changing anything by me being in here.

Yes, but consider the benefits and support you are getting? Do you think a DSP exists in other countries? @Blackcloud

Maybe that's part of the problem, @tyme ? The government just giving people money when they really ought to be giving them jobs, then making out that the problem's been resolved because having money's all that matters.

Leaving aside all the mental wellbeing factors of making sure citizens have meaningful jobs - even in a strictly financial sense, it's crummy policy. The recipiants are probably worse off, financially, recieving government money then they would be recieving a proper pay check for full-time work; and of course, it's a drain on the economy, which inevitably makes itself known in our bills and other expenses.

Governments (of both sides) have been promising since the year dot to create jobs for the unemployed. I wish one of them would actually follow through on those promises.
