@rav3n
yeah, about the lady I spoke to at orange door, one of the things she said that in my head made me go like "huh?! 🤨🤨" was when I was telling her about the reason why I don't wanna consider on going to the legal route (like the police potentially arresting my mum as a result if I were to report her to them) because my sister who has a low functioning disability would then otherwise wouldn't be able to be very well looked after and taken care of if my mother's no longer present in the home to be able to fully take care of her then, and then she (the lady at orange door) goes like "aww, you must really love your sister 🥰" and then I was like "um...actually no, I don't." and then I told her that my sister and I's relationship is very much non-existent and all that and then she goes like "but you care about her. you care about your mum too. and you're also very kind. 🥰" like ok???? miss ma'am clearly doesn't even know what my relationship with my family members are actually like but yet she says that I "care" about them and "love" my sister, just because I dont want them to be put into such situations that involve consequences?? 😂😂😂
ahh ok, I've looked onto the website but I can't seem to find anything regarding an additional fee for an interpreter. Were you able to find out what the cost of the actual fee for that was?
And Youth Law Australia just got back to me again via email today and I'll be speaking to one of their lawyers over the phone soon probably this week. I'm so happy I was able to provide a lot more information to them through email last week about what has been happening.
yeah, I understand about sharing similar cultures and language with one another, and the thing is I've never wanted to associate myself with my heritage (including NEVER speak the language as well as NEVER speaking to any of our extended family that only speak that language, yes that includes my grandma and aunty) and I still don't wish to till this day - but for some reason my mum wanted me to in some way? I'd rather be part of a different cultural heritage than the one I was biologically assigned to because what even is this kind of traditional culture?? for your second point, I feel like my mum especially is also connected to the Chinese heritage since we also have a Chinese background - but it's just that the majority of our heritage is Cambodian, whereas part of the other in our background is Chinese. Yeah I can understand the third part, but then again, what we choose to do for ourselves is our life, right?
I mean, as much as I'd like to be with a guy whose Cambodian but most importantly, he has to be someone who is like 1-2 or 3 years older than me, and someone that was born and raised either here in Australia, or in any other multicultural English dominated foreign countries like America/Canada/New Zealand, cause then that would mean that at least him and I would share the same values and perspectives on certain things. I would appreciate it if isn't the one to invalidate my struggles and feelings though - I think that should be the no.1 important thing for all relationships - to prioritise mental health and make others feel validated and heard.
oh no, don't ever feel sorry for rambling! please ramble when you can since I'm willing to read it all (I'm being serious) especially when its related to something I'm going through especially - I like it when peoples replies are long and lengthy and not just posts that are either in some short sentences or in some short paragraphs if that makes sense. 🙂
Today I've been doing good - I went to the gym first thing in the morning and then after that I went outside and stayed inside the shopping mall for a few hours until the early afternoon even though today is another 35-37 degrees celsius day... but I was able to take a shower after I came back. 🙂
how are you?
