My life is a train wreck

My life is a train wreck

TW: SH, Sui, SA

I'm so done with life. I have CPTSD and I have spent as long as I can remember fighting it. The last 8 years have been so bad and this year is just a series of unfortunate events. Feel like I get knocked down, pull myself up and get knocked down again, pull myself up .... over and over again and I don't have the strength anymore. I think I must have broken a mirror or something because I seem to attract the worst luck in the world. I try really hard to be a kind positive person, but the universe doesn't seem to repay me. Karma can't be real because I try my best to be a good person but I keep getting sh*t on!

I'm done. I've been SH tonight for the first time in a long time. Very superficial but it's a slippery slope. I'm wildly depressed and want to give up, but I don't actually want to die it's actually better when I'm fully suicidal. It's more depressing wanting to live but feeling like it's just too hard.

I've tried so much therapy but I'm just broken. I'm horribly lonely ,everybody I know has a partner and there is me at nearly 35 wildly alone and incapable of doing anything about it thanks to childhood SA.

I just don't know what to do anymore I'm so tired, so alone, and so hopeless. I'm too broken to get my life together and it hurts.

I can't afford anymore therapy as thanks to my disastrous life in now wildly in debt (mostly to the vet) so I can't even get help.

Sorry I'm rambling, I just don't know what to do anymore.

Hey @Rainbowzebra ,

I hear you are battling. It hear your pain. I hear how much you have been fighting to stay afloat.

There are things in life we just can't pinpoint a reason for, yet your feelings and responses are valid.

What supports do you currently have in place? I'm mindful you mentioned that finances are hindering your ability to get the help you want. Are there any other supports?

Thinking of you.

@tyme thanks for replying. Just to add to the disaster list my internet is now not working very well either so haven't been able to get on here.

Honestly I don't seem to have any support. I can't afford to get professional help right now. One of my friends just got married and is on her honeymoon and the other is mostly with her girlfriend. I never seem to be with her for long enough to find the courage to tell her how I feel right now. I'm feel desperately alone in the world.

I don't want to die, but I don't want to live like this and I have lost hope that life can look any different for me.

Hey @Rainbowzebra ,

Have you checked whether you are eligible for SANE's Guided Recovery Sessions? https://www.sane.org/referral

Or, otherwise, the Recovery Groups? https://www.sane.org/recovery-club

These are free of charge and may be more accessible to you at this time.

We are also here for you.

Re: My life is a train wreck

@tyme thanks I'm actually engaging with the Sane program, but I struggle with the telephone sessions, I find it hard to make that connection when it's not face to face. I also didn't tell her how I was feeling last time because I live in WA and so I have to convert the time and I added time the wrong direction and was having a nap when she called and I never quite got my thoughts on order to articulate what I was feeling.

  • I have another session tomorrow but I just find it all a bit generic help. I've had a lot of therapy over the years and I know all the basic strategies but I find they simply don't work when I fall this far. I'm still forcing myself to live my life. I go to work everyday, make an effort to socialise, exercise, get outside etc etc but I feel the same. I find this time of year so hard I just have to try and white knuckle it through and hope I feel better on the other side. Unfortunately the other side for me is February because I also dread my birthday at the end of January.

What about the Recovery Club sessions? They are held via video in groups. https://www.sane.org/recovery-club
