Welcome and getting started

Hi, I'm new to this forum and still trying to navigate it. But I am an older person in my fifties who has been diagnosed with BPD, kind of late but I always knew that there was something quite wrong. I am glad it is recognized more often as trauma issues. But there have been lots of triggers lately that have brought my BPD to the surface again. I have been having some problems with my therapist around boundaries at the moment.

Content/trigger warning
Hi @Catlady2018, welcome to the forum! Being diagnosed later in life can be a lot to process, but it’s great that you’re recognizing the connection to trauma—it’s such an important piece of understanding BPD. Triggers can be overwhelming, and I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with challenges around boundaries with your therapist. If you feel comfortable, bringing it up with them might help to clear the air and rebuild trust. Take it one step at a time, and know you’re not alone—we’re here to support you

Re: New member

Thank you for that info, I'm sure that should help.
Yes, Boundaries are a big thing at the moment as my therapist has given me an ultimatum and said no more emailing her except only to contact her for appointment changes etc. I have been seeing her for just over seven years now. In the beginning, she didn't mind so much, but she now has a growing private practice, so she has asked that I not email or otherwise she will refer me on. This is a big worry for me because I don't want to see anyone else and start again. Plus I like my therapist she is very good at what she does.
