Wondering if there’s anyone on here who like me has chronic pain and/or illness, and what you do to help yourself emotionally while dealing with it?

Hi @Orchid1
I just wanted to pop by and welcome you to the forums.
I know that chronic pain and chronic illness is experienced by many in this community and I'm sure that some members will be by shortly to offer some insight from their own lived experiences.
In the meantime feel free to take a bit of a look around the forums, perhaps even say hello in our welcome thread if you'd like https://saneforums.org/t5/Welcome-and-getting-started/Welcome-Introduce-yourself-here/m-p/1149480

Hi @Orchid1,
Welcome to the Forum, and thank you for sharing with us.
I can only imagine what it must be like to live with chronic pain, but I do care for a loved one who suffers from chronic pain and also has their own lived/living experience of mental health challenges. So I am aware of the complexities that come with it.
But to answer your question, I think having appropriate supports around you — whether that be an understanding GP and mental health professional, family, friends, as well as natural therapies (such as acupuncture) has proven very helpful for my mother's overall wellbeing.
We just watched Osher Günsberg: A World of Pain on SBS on Demand and found it very refreshing to hear people talking openly about chronic pain. Have you seen it?
I will keep you in mind and tag you to try to help connect you with others. If I find any resources or supports that may be helpful, I will post them here for you and anyone else that may be in a similar situation.
Hope to hear from you soon, take care.

Hi I live with both and I understand how difficult it is. It's exhausting hey. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
I take breaks and and spend time with friends or family. But take time for yourself is the most important thing and rest!!

Hi @Orchid1
I have c-Ptsd, fibromyalgia and me/cfs. Also suspected Autim/ADHD.
I'm in a severe state of fatigue (18 months so far) and struggle regularly with not having a purpose.
Today was our nurture group therapy at rehab, and is was so sore, tired and anxious that i masked the full hour - but in doing so I connected with someone else that was masking too.
The rest of the time I'm isolated. So to feel a real connection was the highlight of my day today.

Hi there
i have chronic pain and autonomic dysfunction. I spend a lot of time stuck in bed and can’t go out much
i have an emotional support cat ( she was supposed to be a pet but now it’s way more than that) who I live for, but not much support at all tbh.
I push through to stay employed but it’s getting so hard. I don’t want to lose my house.
