green green grass of home

green green grass of home

Healthy green grass is aesthetic and pleasing.

I want to make my lawn best as can be.

Does any one here appreciate a good lawn and have some handy feet loving tips on lawn care?

When anxious or disociatex I know groundingactivity can be good mental health first aid. And I'm thinking good investment toward good mental health could be right at my feet. ... 🌱

Hey @Macey ,

Great to see you!

I HATE the garden. With a passion. But guess what? Green lawns were always soothing for me. I didn't mind doing the lawns and used to do them once a week. I loved the feel of freshly cut lawns...

It was very therapeutic.

Are you saying that you will invest in lawn? Sorry I'm a bit confused.

At my place is a new seeded lawn and I think it is goodun opportunity to nurture it and make a project for me to fill its potential.

Sounds like a good project. I suggest cutting it often but never go too deep. Destroy the bindi before it can spread or your bare feet will be very unhappy ☹️

Thanks cleo.

I've seen this stuff called weed and feed but I'm think it might not be so brilliant. But so far no prickles or thorns I have a clean slate for now

Hi @Macey

You are so right in how walking bare foot on your lawn is grounding and excellent for our mental health.

Much like the grounding benefits of the ocean, exposing our bodies to the earths electrons, neutralises free radicals, reduces inflammation, improves overall health and reduces stress.

It's amazing how simply connecting with the earth and grounding improves our nervous system function and acts to restore the body's electromagnetic balance.

My son lives with disability and does not have much exposure to the fantastic befitis offered in our natural environment.

I purchased a Grounding Sheet for him, as a way of giving his body the great benefits of grounding without the complexity of being outdoors.

I love my garden, and find tending to it and mowing rewarding. It's my happy place. The only lawn tip I have is mow it longer in summer to prevent it dying and the growth of weeds.

Kindly Alisse

@Alisse I'm guessing longer grass leaves would shade the roots in hot summer .

Have you heard of watering with baby shampoo?

Hi @Macey
Yes longer grass prevents drying out in the brutal heat of Australia's summers.
I have not heard of watering with baby shampoo, but it seems to make sense in that it's pH balanced and allows the water to penetrate the soil better. I don't see how it could hurt to maybe try it out on a test patch of grass and make your own decision.
