Isolated and feeling stuck
Hi Everyone,
My mental health has been going further and further down. I live in a town that has limited education, training and job opportunities. I am 4 hours from the nearest capital city and I’m stuck here for my child and his father - my now ex husband. I am trying to better myself for not only my future, but that of my child. I have to live in a dysfunctional house with my ex husband as houses and rent has tripled since Covid and everyone moving here. I work full time in a loveless job - but hey - it’s a job. I can’t afford or get a rental as too many people and not enough houses.
I want to study and get a better job to be able to afford a house on my own and be independent for my son and I. It’s feeling impossible with the limited resources this town offers. I can’t study online as what I want to do is medical based and face-to-face. I was accepted into uni, but how am I meant to work fulltime and study fulltime 4 hours away 😵💫 I have the brain, drive and tenacity, just not the means.
Sorry for the vent, just feel stuck and isolated here. No friends and no family either - moved here for my ex husband’s job and his family .
If I didn’t have my son, I would have moved away and lived in a van at this point, but not viable with a young child.
I guess I have to wait until my son is older and reassess my situation.
Just feeling so lonely, isolated and lost.
Thanks for reading.
