Hi @Wesco5454

I just wanted to stop by and welcome you to the forums

I'm glad that you found this site and have been able to reach out today. Loneliness is a topic that's discussed quite a bit on these forums and I'm sure there will be members by soon who relate to what you're going through. I hope that this can be a safe space for you to connect with others.

Yes - Thank you for your response. It is always nice to hear from other people.

Would be good to seem who is about - seems wide spread....

Finding social connections that may be compatible can definitely be a challenge!

Re: Anyone Tasmania -

Yeah, we have members from all over Australia on here @Wesco5454 I'm based in Vic myself

That's an interesting but important point you mentioned about finding social connections that are compatible - what does this compatibility look like for you?

Also just a handy forums tip - to tag the member you're responding to you can press the '@' key and it should bring up a list of suggested usernames. Press on the one you're looking for and it will appear in blue like this @Wesco5454 Doing this makes sure that the other member gets notified of your post 😊

Re: Anyone Tasmania -

Hi @Wesco5454

I still call myself a Tasmania at heart. I grew up on the north west coast, spent lots of holidays down the west coast at my pops house. Still have family there too. My mums actually down there at the moment visiting my brother, but is jumping on the spirit tonight to start her journey back home to us to Sydney.
We moved up to Sydney when I was 20. Huge change, but mostly love it because of the opportunities up here. But a piece of me is still there and I would love back for the weather any day!! I absolutely hate the heat.

sorry you struggle with loneliness. I do a fair bit too. I think a lot of people who struggle with their mental health find themselves suffering with loneliness too. Think it kinda comes with a lot of mental health conditions, you feel misunderstood, you withdraw, don’t go out as much… all sorta things. Hope that you feel a little bit connected here though. There are some lovely folks about the place.

Re: Anyone Tasmania -

@Ru-bee aware that people connect on different levels- I guess I would say I am likely to connect with people more who like getting out - perhaps enjoy a good walk (bush walk, beach walk, town walk etc), may enjoy camping, sitting around an open fire at times, lean toward a more healthy life style -

I think reaching out - meeting new people.

Re: Anyone Tasmania -

Oh lovely @Wesco5454 I take it these are all things that you enjoy doing yourself?

I'm definitely wanting to get outdoors more this summer, especially because Victoria has free camping in national parks until June and I'm trying to take advantage of that! Do you ever do hikes?

Hiya @Wesco5454 nice to meet ya!!

Just wondering, did you mean to put a content warning on your post? Doesn't look like anything triggering in there! I can remove it if you want?
