One Day at a time here

thank you @Oaktree , @Ru-bee for thinking of me today 😍

my results from the doctor was not really good

  • my Kidney function have decreased to 17%
  • my Liver and diabetes levels are up
  • I have Osteoporosis which i will need medication as my bone density has decreased because of the kidney disease
  • they believe that the Liver function is up because of the kidney disease
  • Kidney disease affects every part of your body
  • scan also shows the tinny of my kidney

Re: One Day at a time here

Sounds a bit overwhelming @Shaz51 . Hope the drive and Maccas were nice, a nice thought but maybe tiring.

Maybe keep a box or jar to put ideas in. A place to park them until you're ready to think about them.

Research? I imagine that's a big ask when you have so much going on. Part of my job used to be helping people with that.

There's a difference between trying to find out anything/everything because it's all new to you and you think it's good to know

And trying to find answers to particular questions.

And what people might say on social media is often so different to what a medical clinic might say.

May I make a couple of suggestions?

Do you have a local library? Librarians can be a big help. They're across all sorts of information. Some of them are lovely people and very happy to help, or just to chat to about how and where to look.

The other suggestion is making a thread for forumites to help you look. Some forumites are really good at it. @Appleblossom and @Till23 come to mind but lots of other people too. I'd be happy to help too.

You don't need to feel alone in this.

Hi @Shaz51 I'm sorry that you are feeling overwhelmed.. I want to say I understand that feeling,, but I know everyone's experience is different,, but I think I have some insight into it,, and it's definitely not a nice feeling..

I hope you are able to have some down time and some "you" time, just by yourself, without having to account for other people..

I know that can be difficult as a carer, it was for me with my Dad at times, especially towards the end.
