You too, lovely. I am sorry today wasn't too enjoyable with your hubby's sister... it must be nice to be back home. @Shaz51

I think I will be back on the 7th! 🫶

Re: One Day at a time here

She did not stay long @AuntGlow so that was good

We came home and husband went to bed

I had a cuppa and relaxed in the lounge

Hot up here , glad for aircon

Suppose to be raining but it is not

Cooking a roast for dinner so no cooking tomorrow

Re: One Day at a time here

Glad to hear you are relaxing in aircon @Shaz51 .

Sorry that the sister came along who is not pleasant. Was visiting his mum when the sister wasnt there OK?

I just got home. Warm day here, although apparently only got to 28 or so. But felt warm walking around in the house since i got home - sweaty now, but now i get to sit and relax rest of evening hopefully.

I bought myself a 2L dare iced coffee on the weekend as a treat. Best before was today. Opened it today for lunch, but guess what? The Grinch must have visited! Because it was off 😭. Big shame. But at least i was not in a very stressed mood; i did NOT burst into tears because of spoilt milk lol. (I think i've mentioned on the forum once before that i burst into tears MANY years ago once because a cafe was unable to do the frappe on their menu -- i was very tired and stressed, and obviously that was just the last straw that day 😅. Over 10yrs ago now.)

Re: One Day at a time here

I'm glad you saw MIL @Shaz51 but it's a pity about SIL. Hopefully Mr shaz recovers in time to enjoy your special day together tomorrow. Sounds quite cruisy actually, you've planned it well with no stress of cooking etc.

Your grand kids will probably be excited tonight, I hope you'll hear about it.

Tonight I'm unwinding from visiting someone today. Tomorrow will be a big day with about 10 people.

Re: One Day at a time here

Oh hun @Shaz51 , i am sorry your hubby is not accepting/following the support and treatment. Does he tell you why he doesnt want to?

How do you feel about his decisions?

I can imagine i would feel so frustrated and helpless and annoyed. I felt that way when my husband wouldnt recognise his depression or seek help the padt 3 years.

Re: One Day at a time here

@AlwaysMyself

Does he tell you why he doesn't want to? yes, he said at his age nearly 66, he does not think talking to someone will not help, he has been through that all before

the new meds are wiping him out for longer than he wants to, so he is seeing how the half the meds help

How do you feel about his decisions?--- travelling to the city for talks is a lot , and I am glad he talks to me about things

half of his new med is helping him sleep through the night so it means I am getting more sleep at night

Re: One Day at a time here

I am glad that he is sleeping better with the meds, and that also means you get more sleep @Shaz51 .

Hmm, i can understand his reasons. That is hard. I understand the not wanting to put in the effort to go to the appointments to talk if it doesn't help.

Do you think talking has helped him in the past, or not?

I know sometimes depression can skew our memories and make it hard to remember when things did help. But i also know that sometimes the "traditional" prescribed treatments dont help (and it hurts a lot when people keep pushing them and dont believe that they dont help).

For me, talking to my counsellor doesnt usually "help" longterm improvement, but it helps me manage week to week to have someone to talk to about things that have come up or are on my mind, or to explore ideas or plans, etc. Its "maintenance support" for me. Makes me less likely to decline as sharply.

Re: One Day at a time here

It's not easy @Shaz51 .

Fingers crossed the new meds help, even at half the dose.

Getting to know the new counsellor and feeling comfortable with them counts a lot. Pity it didn't work out. Maybe teleheath would have helped with the long drive...

Glad you're getting a bit more sleep.
