And she's not rushing into it. --- no @Dimity but she did say it will be soon in the future but one step at a time my friend

the specialist is writing a letter to my doctor who I see next week with a plan

also, from the diabetes specialist too

Re: One Day at a time here

@Shaz51 Good morning. I’m so glad you had your old specialist and that things are stable and that there is no urgency. That really is wonderful news. I learned something in that a fistula has to mature first.

How are you today? Sounds like yesterday was very busy with a fair bit of driving in bad weather.

Re: One Day at a time here

@Shaz51 It’s been raining on and off where I am too. Yes you had a big day yesterday and am glad you are taking it easy today.

I am home and have been looking at online rentals to see what inspections are coming up. Trying to get through the day and looking for mental health support. I was seeing a psychologist for some years and now that NDIS cut all my mental health funding I can’t afford the gap to see her. I recently tried a counsellor at local health service and they were completely useless. So trying to figure out what to do. I’ve been really struggling like many others and at the moment I’m not coping with basic stuff so I mostly sit at home and do nothing.

Re: One Day at a time here

@Shaz51 Thank you friend. It’s really comforting knowing you understand and are sitting with me.

I know things have been hard for you too. We both have some similar experiences having mental illness and chronic medical conditions. None are easy to live with and I know we do our very best each and everyday.

When they put the fistula in do you have a surgery for that? Did the specialist mention how long the fistula takes to settle in?

When they put the fistula in do you have a surgery for that? --- they said that i will be awake but will not feel it

will get one in the forearm and a tube in the belly @Cuddlebear

Did the specialist mentioned how long the fistula takes to settle in? --- she said 3 months before you go on the machine and you have that for life or until a transplant

Re: One Day at a time here

@Shaz51 I’m glad the fistula will be more of a non invasive procedure. I’ve had a tube in my leg but that was put in during bypass surgery and they sewed it on. I had it though only for a month and then the cut the stitches off and I didn’t need it after that. It was draining stuff out and was attached I think to this pump device.

Ah ok 3 months and then when you need the dialysis it’s ready there to be used. I am glad though that your preferred specialist has said you are steady at the moment.

I just made a cup of coffee to warm myself up a bit. Any cool things on YouTube?

So glad you could see your old specialist @Shaz51

Even better that things are stable.

The drive must have taken lots out of you. I hope you were able to rest this afternoon.
