Christmas.....ok I know it might sound early but hear me out!

Christmas.....ok I know it might sound early but hear me out!

hello,

Christmas is approaching and for me second to my high value of family, Christmas is a close second. We go big every year. Not financially but in experiences and really enjoying the whole month with traditions. We had some family breakdowns when I was younger so I decided with my siblings we would never let it ruin it and always chose to really enjoy the season.

anyway this year for the first time I am in a wheelchair and find myself isolated from most of my family. However I refuse to let my favourite time of the year be ruined. I am not ignorant to the grief that will come as it already has in glimpses as its already approaches. I just want to do the best I can to enjoy this time of the year in a new way. So I am taking any ideas, suggestions or advice. So feel free to share.

recently I've been working on changing my narrative so instead of I am isolate in a remote location with limited supports, I have decided to say I am choosing solitude and rest in season. It works most the time 🫣😂

anyway share with me whatever!

Great minds. 😁 I'm sure they will be well received. Especially the jam and chutney as well. How can that go wrong!? I'd ask what flavour the jam was, but they're all yummy so it's not important.

I sometimes see a card on the desk of a doctor or specialist and I always think it must be really nice for them to get them. They see and help so many people, a gesture like that must mean a lot to them, especially when that extra effort has gone into it.

well done for making such an effort to try and spread some Christmas cheer to those who have been supportive for you. It really seems to encapsulate the spirit of the season so perfectly. I hope it allows you to find that contentment you more than deserve.

I must confess it depends on people's lives because most are boozy jams 🫣

however one pair of my grandparents who are religious and English are more partial to the unique cumquat marmalade.

but thank you about the card. That makes me feel more positive about the gift. I do words when used well and intentional can be a very special gift so I am trying that this year.

after what I went through this year I want to always articulate and affirm my words. So I have written a piece for each of my niece and nephews which I plan to record with ai over a video of us. It's not my literal voice which I know they miss but it will be a piece of me to hold onto their whole life. And it reminds me why I fight everyday.

Boozy jams are a thing?! Where has this been all my life?! 🤔😄

That old saying "Its the thought that matters" is so true. Putting that extra thought and effort into a card and gift can be so meaningful to a person who appreciates it.

I'm sure your nieces and nephews will love the video. It's such a heartfelt gift and one which i'm sure they will treasure.
