Anyone started with the NDIS?

Tells my story from initial application (Feb '17) to acceptance by NDIS (July '18) and the process of putting things in place and progress, improvements, managing and difficulties since then. Now Jan '21.

Original post : I've recently moved and will need to get into the NDIS in my new location. Wondering if anyone in the forums has successfully done this? Any advice would be welcome. Feeling swamped by their website.

EDIT : I was finally accepted to the NDIS and am now 3/4 through my 2nd plan. With only a small reduction from the first year. And this plan is for 2 years so I don't have to jump through all the hoops with a review this time next year. To all others on this path I say ........

IT'S REALLY WORTH PERSEVERING!!!

Awesome news @eth! I have to appeal my NDIS decision too. I'm not sure I have the energy in me to fight as hard as you did though. I got given the big No as my psychiatrist didn't know how to complete the ARF.

Am very happy for you. Sometimes you just need to sic a lawyer onto them, to get them to back down.

Sorry to hear your news @Queenie I really hope my result can inspire you to keep fighting. The lawyer didn't cost me as my disability advocate got funding for it. Maybe time for you to engage a disability advocate. You can google them, they are available in every state and don't cost you.

I have celebrated tonight - dinner and drinks with sil and a fire in the fire pit in the vegie garden. We burned a heap of extra copies and early drafts of documents. It was lovely.
