Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7. Was a good Tuesday topic. I think I'll read back through tomorrow and start putting pen to paper.
How are you?

Re: Am Not Coping

water colours are pencils that you use to draw with but can then 'brush over' with water to produce a more 'painted' effect. Pastel pencils are softer pencils that are easier to work with for some than patel crayons. @Former-Member

Thanks @utopia

Yes a wait & see game...

I feel better already by being able to mention it - & hearing from @Former-Member & yourself (your responses).

I've missed you too @Zoe7

Re: Am Not Coping

I think it went much better than I expected it would - people stayed on topic and @NikNik set the 'boundaries' and time frames really well - and kept everyone on track. There was certainly a lot to take in and a lot of different 'voices' - which was great.

I'm ok @utopia - been avoiding here - bit overwhelming and some of those 'boundaries' have been starting to become 'blurred' again - so needed time out. That does mean I miss some of you guys - especially you - but it was getting too much again. Yesterday (and the few days leading up to it) was tough - the anniversary - so got through the best I could. Jumped on here to have a chat but as soon as I did there was too much 'white noise' (I hope you know what I mean) so I left pretty quickly - which was not exactly what I needed at the time.

Re: Am Not Coping

White noise is very distracting @Zoe7. Avoid it when you can.
I'm glad you got through the anniversary. That's always tough.
How are you finding your meds? Are they reducing some symptoms - anxiety? Are you sleeping better?

Re: Am Not Coping

Great thank you for explaining those for me @Zoe7 much appreciated

Re: Am Not Coping

My sleep has definitely improved - never had so many nights in a row where I have actually 'slept'. I still have some anxiety at night but nowhere near what I was having. Triggers are still an issue at night but I have been doing everything I can to avoid them - including leaving the forum straight away when I can see or 'feel' one of my current triggers will be an issue!

I am still tired throughout the day - more so a couple of hours after I take my morning meds and then mid afternoon. I have tried to have a nap but don't actually sleep like I used to for hours during the day - more a lay down and rest.

My body is really weak - so still unable to do much but I am resigned to that fact for now with no pressure on myself to do more than I am able to. I do miss taking Toby to the beach but I know I don't have the energy atm that is necessary to both drive there and back and walk as well.

I do have a little more positive energy and thoughts now - less days when I think about SI - so that is a step in the right direction.

How are you doing my friend @utopia?

Re: Am Not Coping

Wow @Zoe7. It sounds like you are really doing well. Knowing when to pull back and log off the forum. When to sleep & when to rest. All seem to be making a big difference. Your health care plan is definitely working for you. So glad to see.
You do sound a lot calmer - not sure if right word - but more settled.
I'm traveling ok. Taking time to read and do nothing - is keeping my mood level. Always good.

Re: Am Not Coping

I do think I am doing better on the whole - there are certainly periods of lows and a few very low lows but also more moments when I can actually smile - so that is positive (and it hasn't taken a night with you watching MaFS to do that lol)

I also think that having the pressure of wondering when I will be able to go back to work off the table for as long as I need has helped too.

I am so pleased that you are taking time for yourself and doing the 'little' things that make you happy and help to keep your mood level.

It seems like we are both doing 'what we need to do' atm to get by @utopia
