Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Your pdoc is a professional who knows you quite well - and it is his job to work with you and do what is best for you @Former-Member All indications have been that he does that so whilst this nurse may say something to him I seriously doubt it will be an issue. That nurse was out of line and does not deserve your thoughts.

I had a quick read @Former-Member and I agree with everything that @Zoe7 has said

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7 @outlander thanks both of you for the kind words and reassurance, means a lot to me and I appreciate it. I'll do my best to support both of you aswell. Sorry for my slow replies by the way. Listening to music now so I feel a bit better, and I had a shower and put a face mask on earlier to relax, sounds stupid I know but sometimes little things like that help. KHL webchat was sort of helpful, I was talking to them about my thoughts but said I'm safe and haven't done anything and don't plan to, I just sit with the thoughts really, they're common for me, I try to distract myself.

Thats true about the rude nurse. It may sound stupid and not like a big deal but it's hurt me quite a lot and has even heard my parents and has shocked them. They told me to tell my Psychiatrist then make a complaint so that's what I'll do, hopefully that helps and gets a bit of weight off my shoulders telling my psychiatrist and complaining. How the nurse treated me isn't ok and I don't deserve that without sounding selfish, cocky, etc.

I hope he believes me yes. I guess as you said Zoe, he's known me longer and is compassionate and sympathetic, so I hope he's smart enough to see through this idiot and believe me. He'll be shocked and disappointed in this guy when I tell him, I know that much.

I'll keep you all updated tomorrow and then Wednesday. Sorry for this long comment, just typing it all in one to make it easier.

PS - hey @Lee82 . Is it ok if I talk here, or on the Numb Again thread? Is that ok if I tagged Lee, @outlander ?

Re: Am Not Coping

self care activities can be helpful @Former-Member and im glad KHL was helpful as well. Hopefully youll get some sleep tonight and tomorrow will be better.
I also hope the new support worker meeting will go well for you too. No one deserves to be treated like rubbish, everyone should be treated with dignity and respect and if that's not something they can provide they need to change professions.
I hope your psychiatrist will help guide you along with the complaint process. ive not had to do that so im not overly familiar with it

Re: Am Not Coping

Thanks for understanding. Yeah maybe my Psychiatrist can help with the complaint, I'll ask him. I know who to complain to and the process though, I've done it before with a place I went to and I got the outcome I wanted, so let's hope it's the same here. I'll keep you updated with tomorrow and Wednesday.

Social worker seems nice, I've seen pictures of her on the clinics Facebook page, seems like a nice lady, maybe in her 50s or 60s, dunno.

Don't know how old my Psychiatrist is, maybe 40s or 50s, I'm not going to ask lol. But without trying to brag, he's been in the health work for 25 years (not just as a psychiatrist I think) so he has plenty of knowledge and experience.

MH nurse has barely been doing this job and seems to have no experience, who knows how he even got the job in the first place. @outlander

Re: Am Not Coping

some people are in the their professions for the wrong reasons @Former-Member that's not yours or anyone elses fault.

I hope you get a good outcome with the complaint, your psychiatrist seems professional but caring so I think youll be ok.

Yes many support workers are a little older but they are often very good because they've dealt with many people and experiences.

Re: Am Not Coping

@outlander that's all true with everything you said and I agree, so thanks. I'll give the social worker a go, can't be any worse than this rude nurse, well I hope not
