Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

That is super tough @Jezabell89 Sorry you are feeling that way today - it is so hard when we don't have our loved ones with us especially on special days like today. It is okay that you feel like that - most people would in your situation ...love and hugs for you today Hon

Hey @Zoe7 ! Thank you very much for your kind words. I have people around me but I feel so isolated. It really does suck. Bit I know it will get better. Might call the MHAT number and see what they say.

Re: Am Not Coping

That sounds like a good idea @Jezabell89 Just having someone to talk to when you feel like this is valuable. I understand what you mean when you say you are with people but feel so isolated - when those thoughts take over it can make us feel so lonely in a room full of people - that is not at all easy. Have a chat to the MHAT and let us know how it goes

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Zoe7 ! So I spoke to MHAT. They were lovely. Giving some insight into my Illness and myself. I've got so many good things happening for me it just feels strange to feel so low. We decided I would call back if needed. But I think I should be fine.

Well done @Jezabell89 . I'm glad MHAT were so helpful. Makes you more likely to phone them again when in need. I hope your low mood lifts soon, to enable you to make the most of all the good things which are happening for you lately.

Re: Am Not Coping

That is really great that they helped you @Jezabell89 and that you can call back if you need. It is hard concentrating on the positives when you are feeling low but that is exactly when you need to recognise them as well. I find that hard as well but you calling MHAT was also a positive - well done you

Lunch was lovely @BryanaCamp My sister is such a great cook and the meal was amazing. My Mum was not very well though so she could not eat very much. I don't think she will be at work for a few days - she shouldn't have come down today but she wanted to - think she was just happy to get out of the house.

I am so glad you saw your friend and it was nice. I am super happy that you didn't cancel and actually got yourself out to meet him - you should be pleased with yourself too Hon - I know that you really didn't feel up to it but you pushed yourself and that is awesome.

Re: Am Not Coping

Not as teary @BryanaCamp, but they are lurking. A lack of diagnosis and therefore treatment. has caused massive changes to our life, which are becoming permanent, in that some things can’t / won’t be reversed, even if an intervention were to happen now. It is something I have to come to terms with because it is what it is, but changes aren’t always for the better or worse ..... sometimes they are just different, and new Lessing’s can be found in them. I think it’s the inevitable feelings of anger, frustration, disappoint and unintended (as in not intentionally relinquished) loss that are not easy to process, especially as it’s still all so open-ended. But what can you do ? The nature of this illness is hidden and not clearly defined. It may never be diagnosed either, so I have to find ways to get on with my new reality.

Tears are “par for the course”, and are part of the healing, so I tend to just accept them when they are around.

Thank you though, and yes, less teary today 😏🌷
