Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

We totally understand how much you are dealing with @Former-Member and so any absence from the forums - while we still worry - is also very much understood. It is a good thing that you have some idea of when hubby will be going into hospital - things are moving quicker than you expected. I hope - for you sake and his - that it is not needed any sooner in an emergency capacity but if it is I have no doubt you will deal with it. You are stronger than you know Hon

@Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @BryanaCamp Time for Zoe to get her butt into gear, have a shower and head to the panel meeting. A bit nervous about it if truth be told but I am sure my opinions will be just as value as the others on the panel otherwise I would not have been asked to do it. How's that for being positive

Catch you all later and thank you for being here and being such wonderful supports

ps: goodluck in your session @Faith-and-Hope will be here for you later if you need

Good afternoon wonderful people 🙂

Just stopping by (trying super hard not to interrupt!). It is pretty awesome to the amazing support that's evident here for @Zoe7. Thank you all for contributing, and thank you for being so open honest in your journey @Zoe7

Some of you may have seen a community discussion that happened a while back here looking at long extended threads and the most suited area of the forum for them. The SANE Community came to the conclusion that when threads become quite long and have moved off from the original post area or have become slightly journal-esque, that we would look to move it over to ‘Our Stories’ area.

While this post started off well suited for this area, it is now a bit more suited for the area of 'Our Stories' to continue chatting through. This will help new members navigating through forum threads as well. Please do continue your conversation and this will be moved shortly into ‘Our stories’

Re: Am Not Coping

I dont understand @Former-Member what difference shifting threads to another section makes ... if any? Clearly the prospect has upset @Zoe7 and I think there have been members on other threads who have expressed their disappointment also.

Can you explain to me what changes are affected by shifting the section upon which the individual threads are located? For example I have a personal "My Story" thread in the LE section of the forums, and a "Something's Not Right" thread in the Carers section. I havent seen much difference in how either are treated. Is there a difference in 'visibility', 'accessability' or something between the sections? Sorry I'm just confused by the apparent disapppointment regarding the transfer of threads. @Faith-and-Hope

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Former-Member

Thanks for asking the question. It sounds like it needs to be aired ...... and I will have a go at explaining what I understand it it be about.

I am also conscious that is a sensitive situation, so I will try to be as non-klutzy as I can with it, with a big request for understanding if I don’t make a good job of it.

Now that the forums have grown in size as much as they have, there are a lot of new people, and most of them (us) arrive on the forums in distress. When they come to a topic heading that says Something’s Not Right ..... taking my main thread on the Carers side for example, and find that it doesn’t appear to be talking about what the title suggests (eating disorder), it is confusing and difficult to navigate.

Of course that is only one side of the picture.

A discussion thread was raised to talk about this a little and try to work out a way to decide whether a restructuring of the threads / discussion topic areas was required. This sounded too disruptive ..... although any change here, by its nature, is disruptive.

It seemed more sensible, and less disruptive to look at the current topic areas and see whether some threads can be moved, and the most obvious ones are the ones that opened as a distress thread, but have become a little more mixed and sometimes social, with time and healing and / or progress and changing circumstances with time.

The topic area they have been ear-marked to be relocated to is Our Stories, however I am hearing that the message hasn’t spread widely enough, and that forumites have been taken off-guard.

i have put forward a request that the change-over is approached a little more tenderly, and yes ..... the timing for @Zoe7 with Rickpool’s departure just announced is very sucky.

It also needs a sense of co-operation at the actual point of change, so that it’s an agreed change of location thread-by-thread, in my opinion, so it doesn’t feel like the carpet has been lifted under our feet.

Changes that seem small for some are very not-small for others.

Re: Am Not Coping

hi @Faith-and-Hope it is sad you're losing a home, you're so generous and energetic with your maternal energies I am sure it would have been a wonderful, warm place full of loving interactions. A home is so much more than a house. I still remember the homes of both my grandma's, so many loving, happy times I spent with those wonderful women. Sometimes I go thru each room in my mind or a detail - the pattern of the curtain, the chair I used to sit in, the vase she used to use when I brought her flowers. They are vivid & rich memoreis for me. It is a great idea to protect your memories with photos.
