Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

Whilst you can't physically be there for them you can listen when your brother calls @Former-Member but ultimately they have to deal with this sad news in their own way too.

I know you would be straight there if you could but that is not possible. It is also important that you look after yourself in all this too. Even though this has not happened to you it will still have an impact on you - so being mindful of that is important - don't bottle up your own emotions Hon and reach out to us and your psych for support.

Re: Am Not Coping

Can you send them a beautiful card and something small and personal @Former-Member ? They will need acknowledgement and tokens of comfort in their grief, and these are things you can do from far away. I recently lost a cousin. I phoned her mum as soon as I heard, and I have a small photo frame to send her, now that it has been a couple of months.

Its so sad, and I am feeling for all of you. Teary night here anyway ...... lots of loves coming your way.

@Faith-and-Hope @Appleblossom @BlueBay @Pepsimax @Former-Member @Sans911 @Snowie @Teej @CheerBear @eth @Adge @MDT @TAB @Shaz51 and all following along...

Had a somewhat difficult start to DBT today - things brought up that I had to think about for a while. It was all centred around how I feel about people generally and the impact my childhood and trauma have had on my beliefs. I did talk more with my pdoc about it all this afternoon and will bring it up with my psych when I see her in a couple of weeks. I also talked about the security of being in my little bubble at home with my fur babies and that I really don't want to branch outside that bubble too much - especially right now. Work, DBT and appointments are enough for me to deal with - I know I am getting through the days a little better and don't feel quite so tired but am always glad to be home at the end of the day and all I can really manage is rest - throwing anything else into that mix would exhaust me - that I am very conscious of. Today I feel exhausted and could quite easily go to bed now and sleep until tomorrow.

My pdoc and I also talked about me waking up during the night and the dreams I am having - they are quite vivid but not traumatic as such - they do shake me up a bit though. We have decided to stick with the current meds and dosages and re-assess next appointment (which will be in the holidays) - so if we are going to change anything again I will have a little time to get used to the change. I am reluctant to increase one of my night meds again but if the waking through the night continues we may need to - that I know will make me even more tired in the morning and is not ideal coming into the colder months when mornings are hard anyway.

I really need to do a few things at home this afternoon but the tiredness factor is prominent. I will try after a little rest and only do the couple of things that cannot wait until the weekend. I may even feel a little better once those couple of things are done. It is definitely going to be an early night for me so I can be rested enough to get through the next couple of days at work.

I hope everyone else has had an okay day - some of you I know are doing it tough at the moment and my thoughts are with you all. Love and hugs to you all in however your day has gone
