Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Thank you @Sans911 It was really unexpected but I have accepted the position on the panel and now just need to work on the reading when it is forwarded to me.

@Faith-and-Hope @Sans911 @Shaz51 @BlueBay @MDT @Snowie @Teej @CheerBear @eth @Adge @Former-Member @Former-Member @Appleblossom and all following along

I had a really good day today. I was up super early and despite being very tired this morning I managed to get myself moving. I know once I get to work I am okay - it is just the getting moving and getting there in the mornings that continue to be a problem/

I helped out another teacher doing some extra marking today - she seemed quite tired and stressed and I had the time so it was no problem to do ...it actually helped me fill in some time as well so we both benefitted.

I had a class on my own again today for an hour and the kids were all really good - they just got on with their work and that made it so easy to supervise them. I barely had to do anything - helped a couple of kids with their work, kept a couple on track and talked to another few about what they were doing - that is an easy hour

After school I checked in with the Assistant Principal and she asked how I was doing. I told her I had been really tired the last couple of weeks but feel better this week. She joked that it was the preps that had done that to me and I laughed - mainly because the preps really did exhaust me and she was not far from the truth. She followed that by saying that you would not know with how I have been going. She also said I am doing really well and that everyone is loving having me come into their classroom - that certainly gave me a little extra energy this afternoon. It is nice to hear that other teachers are benefitting from me helping them - it makes me feel like I am not only being respected but worthwhile and those are definitely things I have been lacking in my life for a long time.

I also talked today to another teacher about what I do on Wednesdays. She thought I had a day off so was surprised to hear I do so much. She is a really lovely teacher and I felt comfortable telling her - the great thing is she said that it is wonderful I am doing that for myself - especially because it has helped - and that more people need to look after their mental health especially in teaching. That was a big thing for me to confide in her but it was a good outcome so I am glad I did. I have no fears that she would use it against me or tell anyone else and that is another big thing for me.

One more day before the weekend but I am looking forward to tomorrow - how often have I been able to say that in the last few weeks - maybe the tide is turning a little

Re: Am Not Coping

It has been my experience @MDT that being too open and honest is detrimental to my mental health as there is still so much stigma associated with MI - and I do not think most people know how to deal with it. This teacher opened the door by discussing some ACT stuff she had read about so it was an easy segway. I didn't go into any detail about why I was doing the course but gave her enough info to know a little about it.

@Snowie So pleased you could talk through some of the things bothering you and also that you are having an ok day. How are you sleeping?

Precisely @Zoe7
You always need to pick your audience I say

Sleeping has been ok @Zoe7 but it has been forced sleeping. The days are where I am still having issues.

Re: Am Not Coping

It is good that you are sleeping @Snowie It makes so much difference to how we can face those not so great days. I hope you talked through some of that at your appointment today and have some strategies to help you. Here if you want to talk about what is happening in your days Hon
