Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Well done @Zoe7 on the positive feedback, it sounds like you are going from strength to strength. How wonderful to be appreciated

Hi @Sam3 , don't be hard on yourself. I recently had a doubling in my anti-psychotic dosage & it really helped with my ruminating and anger, such a relief. Just what I needed to get on with my goals. It took about a week to kick in. Give it a whirl

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi all - it's really great to see supportive discussion around medication and the effects however it's really important that when working out dosages, side effects etc we connect with our medical professionals first before trying anything out.

Every individual is so different and we can't know what will effect each person - so always best to work with your doctor or psychiatrist to make informed decisions. 🧡

Re: Am Not Coping

Hi @Sam3 - good to hear from you, as you've been a little quiet lately.

Sorry to hear you are still feeling so sad and low, but please do not feel you have to apologise to anyone for feeling that way, or for expressing it here. Thats what 'here' is for.

So have you given any further thought to taking your psychiatrists advice to increase your antipsychotic meds? Actually I'm a bit confused about that. Last week he suggested you increase your dosage? Which you didnt do I gather. Does he know you didnt increase your dose? Not sure if he is again suggesting you increase your dose, or whether he wants you to double it again from what he suggested last week? Sorry for my confusion.

But I agree with some of the others here, that to give it a try sounds like the best option right now. If you are unprepared to follow the advice of your psychiatrist, then what is the point of seeing him in the first place. There comes a time that we need to accept that our MH professionals actually know more than we do about whats best for us. I figure its worth a try at any rate. The fact that you are currently unable to enjoy life or the many blessings you know you have in it, is a cause for concern and needs to be addressed. There is nothing to be ashamed about, and your own sense of worth is clearly faulty. You are worthy, most definitely, of a better more fulfilling and enjoyable life. It canbe achieved. Perhaps the medications as prescribed by your psychiatrist, will be that way forward for you.

Just my opinion Sam and I hope I have not offended you with my views. I only want the best for you.

Sherry 🤗🌸💕

@Former-Member I missed your peek a boo last night - was already offline - but loved getting your message today.

@Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @BryanaCamp @TAB @Shaz51 @Teej @CheerBear @Sans911 @Snowie and all following along...

It has been a long day but we are still sorting things out so there are some down times that I have to organise things but nothing as yet to organise. Still getting to know the kids and that will take some time - and teachers are still getting used to having me come into their classroom. That means that we don't have a set plan each session but more slotting in to what they are doing - sometimes I am working with small groups and sometimes working with the teacher around the classroom. It will get easier the longer we go and I will hopefully have a much better idea what I am doing each day.

Friday's will be good when it is all sorted as I will also be doing some Art with some of the grade 6s. We will also have an assembly but that doesn't start for a couple more weeks. I have filled those times for now going into the preps in the afternoon.

Very tired this afternoon and glad to be home. Going to attempt to do some housework this evening so there is not too much to do over the weekend. Think it will be an early night for me and a very relaxing weekend. Next week is my first full week with classes and I have the normal appointments and DBT on Wednesday - need to go to my GP this week after cancelling my last appointment.

Hope everyone has had an okay day - will catch up on other threads and how people have been going today when I can. Hugs and hugs

Re: Am Not Coping

All sounds good @Zoe7 . At least you now have the weekend ahead of you to restore some energy and vigor.

Sorry your Hurricanes couldnt win last night. Though I wasnt surprised. If you look at the Melb Stars lineup, they seem to have an unfair advantage when it comes to personnel once all their rep players return. Unfortunately it is my prediction that it will be a disappointing all-melbourne final on Sunday. My Sixers are down a few players, and although their batters have clicked on a few occasions, its rare. Mostly they lose 3 or 4 wickets during the early powerplay. So hard to recover from that, as your 'Canes found last night. Oh .. I cried when poor George hurt his shoulder fielding a ball on the boundary. I really like George. He looked in a world of pain, poor fellow.
