Am Not Coping

Am Not Coping

I am really not coping at the moment but this is entirely on ME!

This is a message for a few people on here @utopia @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

that I asked could be passed on but it seems that only part of it has been and I understand from the responses that have made it through my emails that I have caused untold distress for some people. I was not going to return because of what I felt I put people through but I especially wanted @utopia and @Former-Member to know that they were not wrong at the time and I was going through a real crisis period. You both held me together for longer than I could myself until the point where my own self-destructive thoughts overwhelmed me.

The entire message that I sent to SANE is below:

I have just viewed the multitude of emails and messages sent from forum members and members of the SANE team – as well as the text and voice message left on my phone.

I have not been able to communicate with anyone since the other night as I have been recovering from what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt to end the pain.

At the time I was in a very distressed state and I did want to stop the pain and all I seemed to achieve is to cause others pain and worry and that is the last thing I wanted to do – I just wanted to end mine and say goodbye to everyone beforehand so my future absence was explained. I should have realised that the message I posted would have concerned some people but I really was not in any state to think about the repercussions for others.

I am so sorry I caused so much distress to others – that is something I will have to hopefully try and live with.

I don’t believe after the concern and anxiety I caused to so many that I will ever be able to return to the forum.

Can someone from the SANE team please explain all this to all those involved and pass on my gratitude for their compassion, concerns and kind words throughout the time I have been part of the ‘forum family’.

Thank you and sorry again for the difficult position I put everyone in.

Zoe7

I do not want any responses from any of you. I just wanted to let you know exactly what has happened and let you know how truly sorry I am for hurting people I have come to think of as friends and family, and who I really care about.

Your support, advice and compassion are what make you all the wonderful people you are.

@utopia and @Former-Member I am so sorry that the trust you placed in me has now been broken because of my actions. I also felt that we had a stronger connection, especially over the last week, and you both helped me in ways I cannot even describe or explain. I was not pulling away from you two - just wanted to pull away from myself. I couldn't cope with my own feelings and no-one or nothing was actually going to be able to stop me at the time. It's now just another failure to add to my list of failures. I really don't know what else to say to you both but to reiterate my heartfelt 'sorry'.

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7 I really like you! 😄 But believe me I don't 'beat myself up' about the housework much. I've been this way long enough though to know I need to slap myself a couple of times now 😄 😄

I used to have horrible dreams when I was kid, of what memories are back there, the fear of going to sleep is a big one. I don't know how, but eventually I just stopped dreaming. I never knew there was such a thing as a good dream, until a few years ago. My child (who is now an adult) was looking for a new house to rent, and told me of a dream about the 'dream house', describing the most wonderful things - a crystal spiral staircase, stainless steel kitchen (my child likes cooking) and much more 🙂

I always thought dreams were your subconscious way of going through your fears and worries; and I still believe that happens. Fear I think is an everyday thing, it's terror I think, that overpowers the mind. I don't know where I picked it up, but I repeat the word 'the' as I go to sleep. I believe it's supposed to clear your mind because it doesn't lead to anything. I works for me.

About a decade ago I had a problem with 'seeing things', it wasn't until then that I saw doctors, a couple of years later the 'black stocking men' were pushed back into the shadows. All they ever did was watch me, and that ended up being so frustrating, because they never did anything, but they wouldn't go away.

@Former-Member What's not to like.... lol

I am a bit the opposite - I find that my mood is slightly better when the house is clean and tidy! That makes it really hard when I don't have the energy - the house gets dirtier, my mood decreases, house gets even dirtier etc. I do try to do as much as I can when I have some energy but then I also tend to over do it and exhaustion sets in. When I am that exhausted - and can't sleep - the spiral down picks up speed!

We did start working on my nightmares and flashbacks in my psych sessions but it caused too much distress in my last session so I needed to take a break. The last session was the catalyst for my current situation and I am stuck in between a rock and a hard place atm - I can't keep going through the distressing sessions like that but I can't sleep with the fears and anxiety around it - so just keeping my head above water and trying not to go under is my only options for now.

Thinking of you @Zoe7. I hope things start to ease for you soon.

Much love and kind thoughts to you. Allow others to help you keep your head above water.

Re: Am Not Coping

hahaha- that made me giggle @Former-Member I'll start to take those baby steps again when I have more energy! For now - being held up by my 'forum family' and GP - and my fur babies - when they aren't being 'naughty'!!

I have been thinking of you Sherry and hoping you too have your head above water. I know you are doing it really tough too at the moment and I feel for you - here for you if you need my friend

Sending you lots of comforting hugs and warm smiles

Zoe

Re: Am Not Coping

@Zoe7 I think that's the key to everything, not just brain process problems; as long as somewhere in the back of your mind you don't give up - never give up, in doing that you always have a chance 🙂

I feel better when my house is tidy, but have found it's not worth chastising myself over it, no-one but me sees it anyhow 🙂
